The Locket

Maddie Crowley, a 23 year old pop star is on her way to her best friend's wedding. What problems will she face? How will she solve these problems? (This is a short story so, well, ITS SHORT! Please do not ask for sequels because I will not be making one, but if you want an epilogue I might be up to making one).

2. Waking Up

The sun burned my eyes, “Ahhhhhh!!!!! Shut the curtain mom!!” I screamed. A few chuckles escaped from the rescuer’s lips because I had made such a ridiculous comment, but that was all I knew before I passed out.

When I woke up, beautiful roses and get-well cards in a dimly lit room and a window that was open surrounded me. I tried to sit up, but yelped in pain and fell back on the bed. I heard feet stamping up the stairs and nearing the room. The door was thrown back against the wall and there stood Macy, the loving bride and caring best friend, with a saddened expression on her face.

“Maddie! Are you ok? Are you hurt? How do you feel? Do you need something? Water? Food?”

She kept going and going until she ran out of breath. She was always the one who rambled on.

“Maddie? Can you hear me?” she asked, looking down at me.

“Of course I can, stupid. And do not worry, I do not need anything right now, but I would really like a hug,” I begged with tears forming in my eyes. Macy was already crying and came over to hug me.

“Maddie, I am so glad you are ok. My wedding wouldn’t be the same without you,” she said with tears streaming down her face. “I wouldn’t be the same without you…” she squeezed me tighter. “Well, you better be getting some rest. You have a few cracked ribs and a concussion, so sleep!” We giggled and she left the room. I looked at my Rolex watch on my left arm. The time read 2:03pm. I smiled and fell asleep.
