9. The 8th Doctor

Paul McGann's one wonder number eight,

And his regeneration luckily isn't late.

This one is a TV film in 1996 you won't want to miss,

As for the first time the Doctor gets a full-slap kiss.

He says he's half human, and he's got the passion for it,

And his enthuses and eccentricity proved a hit.

When shot, the Doctor is operated on Dr Grace Holloway,

An opera loving cardiologist, but losing the Doctor after killing him with human science, ruins her day.

She's fascinated by his scan showing two hearts,

But with her evidence and the newly regenerated Doctor she parts.

Chang Lee, a gang member takes the Doctor's stuff,

While Eric Roberts' Master as an entity, escapes taking over a man, rough!

The Doctor realises who he is, and convinces Grace he's the same man,

After she quit her job at the hospital because of the Doctor's surgery cover-up and ran.

The Master teams up with Chang and says the Doctor is the villain,

Saying that he stole his body and TARDIS, and wants to kill him.

He makes Chang open The Eye of Harmony, which will swallow the world is not stopped,

For this the Doctor needs an atomic clock.

The Doctor begins to remember, but Grace thinks him mad,

Although when he grabs her with a kiss, she is glad.

He shows her the structure of the planet is already changing,

Grace finds the Doctor mad and engaging.

They then take a trip with Lee and the Master in an ambulance which picks up the pace,

They steal a police motorbike, after the Master spits bile fluid at Grace.

They get to the Institute of Science and take the vital chip,

From the clock and get back to the TARDIS quick.

The Master then takes over Grace,

Knocking out the Doctor with a scary face.

The Master chains him up, wanting his body,

As he's used up all his regenerations, and this human body is shoddy.

Lee listens to the Doctor, and then my the Master killed,

The Master releases Grace to open the Eye, the Doctor's thrilled.

Grace escapes and connects the circuits turning back time,

To when the Eye was offline.

When she returns she's pushed off the balcony and dies,

The Doctor pushes the Master into the Eye, no lies.

The Eye closes and marks the ending of strife,

Turning back time and bringing Grace and Chang Lee back to life.

Lee leaves, and Grace declines to go on the Doctor's travels,

As he pilots the TARDIS alone, who knows what will unravel?

But further down the line, he excapes during the Time War,

An it's affected the universe, right to the core.

All Time Lords are seen as villains, selfish and proud,

But when the ship he is on crashed on Karn, its loud.

They say he hasn't long left, and they have made a potion,

He can choose how he regenerates, like a magical lotion.

Looking at his past, he chooses to become a Warrior,

He wishes the end for the weak Doctor wanderer.

With conviction and almost wealth,

He says goodbye to his companions, and says "Physician, heal thyself."

There are many ways to describe, but an easier translation,

One word, one magician, it’s called: ‘Regeneration.’

Nine years to go until a new face, a new man,

New advenutres, a new companion clan,

Don't forget number 8, although it may be a short rhyme,

Remember the spark of Who Sci-Fi he brought mainly to century number nine.
