7. Chapter 6

Quinn's home was huge, and it was pretty fancy. It was a dark shade brown on the outside and on the inside the walls are painted a light brown color with pictures of her family hung on the wall reaching all the way to the kitchen. Quinn walked in and flung her coat on the couch then made her way into the t.v room. I stood in the doorway unsure of what to do. I starred at the entrance of the room Quinn had just entered and waited to see if she would come back out again. She soon came walking back out with a smile on her face.

"I'll be right back". She quickly jolted up the stairs to what I thought could have been her room. I still stood in the doorway. I took a quick look around and found the shoe rack, I slipped off my white converse and hung my light brown coat up on the coat rack that hung on the wall just above me. Quinn came jolting back down the stairs but instead of wearing the light brown pair of jeans and floral white shirt she had worn before she was wearing grey sweats and a bright pink t-shirt with her name written on it. She smiled at me and gestured for me to follow her into the t.v room.

"Sorry to keep you waiting but I had to change into something more comfortable." I nodded reassuring her that really I didn't mind.  I sat down on one of the black leather couches and pulled out the snacks that I bought in the movie store while Quinn set up the movie in the DVD player.

As the movie went on I began to get more and more tired. It was a school night and it was getting pretty late. I debated whether I should go home or stay and watch the rest of the movie. A yawn escaped my lips and Quinn looked over at me with tired eyes.
"You can go home if you want, you don't have to stay. I'm quite tired myself actually. I'll drive you home if you want". I slowly nodded then remembered that I had to help Caroline with decorating. I had to be at the school an hour earlier than usual and Harry would be there. My eyes widened with shock as I shot up from my comfortable seat on the leather couch.

"I almost forgot that I have to help Caroline with the dance. I should probably go home and get some rest". Quinn yawned then nodded her head.
"That sounds like a good idea, I'll drive you home then I'll see you tomorrow in school. Maybe we'll finish the movie another day". I smiled at her as she grabbed her car keys off the small table by the door.

I woke up to the sound of my annoying alarm clock. I quickly sat up and turned it off for a minutes peace before I had to get up to organize the dance which I'm sure wont be the easiest I've ever done. I smiled at the thought of me and Harry becoming close. It was pretty much the only thing getting me out of bed, well that and the fact that I would be helping out Caroline who had done so much for me since I've moved here and I've only known her for about two days. I took a quick shower then got dressed and went downstairs to find my mother sitting at the table eating breakfast.

"Need a lift to school Em?"
"Yeah, that would be helpful" I laughed before pouring some orange juice into a glass that was on the table next to my mom. She smiled.

"You like it here don't you? I haven't seen you this happy in a long time. Who is he?" I froze. What did she mean by 'who is he?' I don't need a boy to be happy. I started feeling a bit angry but then I realized that part of the reason that I am happy is because of Harry. Why did he have this effect on me? We barely even know each other. I brushed the thought of him to the back of my head and thought of something to answer my mum's question.

"There's no 'he' mum. I don't need a boy to be happy" I protested before finishing off my orange juice. She raised an eyebrow at me.

"Mhm." She stood up from the table and made her way to the door.

"You coming? You're going to be late" she opened the door and walked out before I could answer.

"Wait! There actually isn't a boy!" I now felt frustrated with her, even though I was lying I still don't want her to know that I might have a crush on a boy that I just met. And I repeat might. I rolled my eyes and ran out the door to catch up with her.

*Harry's P.O.V*

"HARRY! GET UP, YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE." I heard a familiar voice calling from downstairs.
"Yeah okay mum. I'm coming"
I groaned  and turned over on my side so I could view my clock to see what time it was. 6:05 am. I shot up out of bed and tripped over my bed sheets that had fallen in the sudden movement. I'm supposed to be at the school for 6:30 and I still have to get a shower. Crap.
I quickly searched through my closet throwing clothes everywhere until I found a simple pair of black jeans and a white t-shirt. I smiled in approval and rushed into the bathroom to get in the shower.

When I was done I ran down the stairs and grabbed my car keys.

"Bye mum, love you" I quickly kissed her cheek and hurried out the door. I heard a faint "Bye Harry." Before I closed and locked the door and made my way to my car.

*Emma's P.O.V*

I walked through the abandoned hallways in the school until I found the entrance to the gym. There were some people already inside getting ready to start, one of them being Caroline. No sign of Harry yet though. I opened the doors and walked in, the sound of them closing made a echo through the gym.

"Emma! You're here, and you're just on time." Caroline cheered as she ran up to me holding a brown clipboard. "You'll be in charge of hanging up some balloons and streamers around the walls of the gym along with Louis, Niall and Harry. Sorry you're with all the boys but all the other girls were too shy to be around Harry since he's really popular so I guess your stuck with him." She giggled and handed me a clear bag with colorful balloons inside.

"You can get started if you want, you don't have to wait for them." I nodded and walked to the farthest  end of the gym so that I would be out of everyone's way while I blew up some balloons.

"Need any help?" I heard an Irish accent speak behind me. I smiled.

"We'll that's what you're here for isn't it?" He chuckled and sat down next to me with a smirk plastered on his face.

"Actually I'm here to ask out a girl I like, I heard she was helping out and I thought this would be a good chance for me to talk to her" For a second I thought he was talking about me and heart started to pound until he pointed over at Caroline. I smiled at the thought of them together, it would be cute.

"Well good luck with that then" I smiled before I started inflating a bright pink balloon. Niall grabbed a blue one of the bag and began to help. I heard the gym doors close and watched as a familiar tall figure walked down the four steps entering the gym. It was Harry. He strode over towards me and Niall and sat down against the wall.

"So we got stuck with ballon duty?" He chuckled while observing the clear bag that had the rest of the balloons in it.

"Yep and you're late so you have to do extra." Niall stated with a playful smirk creeping on his lips. Harry playfully shoved Niall's shoulder and took a green balloon from the bag and started to blow it up. The only person we were waiting on now was Louis. It was silent and awkward between the three of us. Nobody really knew what to say. The only sound I heard was the inflating of the balloons. Caroline walked up on stage and grabbed a microphone that was sitting on a stool.

"Now that pretty much everyone is here we can officially get started. She smiled and guided her group out of the gym up to he art room to start making some last minute decorations. There were only two groups in the gym now, mine and some group working on making posters to attract the attention of students so they will come and make the dance a success. I looked up to see Harry's lips parted. He was about to say something when the fire bell rang, interrupting him.
