I'll take you away, I'll keep you hidden. I'll protect you, I'll love you. Now that we're here we can do what we want. We can be who we want to be. This is our life, this is our beginning and our ending, this is our happily ever after. (The last of the 'tomorrowland' trilogy)

4. vertical

"G--Go away Liam," I muttered as I let my head fall against the outside of the bathtub.

"I'm not going anywhere," he said. "I want you to open the door."

I exhaled, "No."

"Then stop telling me to go away."

I started to close my eyes. Everything was blurry, I was tired, and my body just wanted to give into sleep.

"Bo," Liam said. "Bo, keep talking to me."

"Hmm," I moaned as I let myself fall further. My body was so heavy, but so draining.

"Boston," he said more sternly. "Bo, did you cut vertical?"

This felt so good.

"Shh," I breathed.

When I finally woke up, my eyes adjusted to the florescent lighting in the room.

I was in the hospital. The beeping, the white walls, it all sounded too familiar. That's because it was.

"Hey." I looked to my right by my hand and saw Liam's hand intertwined with my fingers. Further up my hand stuck an IV needle into my skin. I rolled my eyes.

"Why did you bring me here." I know I was acting selfish and mean but at the time I didn't care.

"Bo," he said as he stood up. He reached over me and pulled my other arm from under the blankets. It stung from stiffness and from the sticky bandages stuck to my arm. "You cut vertically. I told them that it was an accident but they aren't going to accept that once they saw the other scars. Trust me they don't want to talk to me either after they saw my scars."

"You should've never brought us here. They don't understand, they will never understand."

"You were seconds from death last night and I will not let you go. Just because what happened to your mum doesn't mean you have to do what you did--."

My voice rose, the nurses outside slowed down.

"Boston, calm down. I understand, but we both need to stop this harm to ourselves."

"Then you don't understand."

"You know I understand. I'm the only who understands!"

"Sir," said a nurse as she entered the room. "Please keep quiet or leave." She spoke in German but to me it was like a fluent language. I didn't even know what language I spoke more of anymore.

"Sorry," said Liam as he turned back to me. "Please, let's try and stop this. For ourselves, for our friends, for your mother."

With that my eyes finally welled with endless amounts of tears. "I need them, Liam. You can't expect me to stay at the house and talk to the maids all day! You're never there! What else am I supposed to do? I knew us--this--whatever you want to call it would die. I just didn't think it would be you having an affair."

"Either I go, or they come here Liam."

"Boston, I'm not having an affair. I'm…working." He cringed at the last part, and for good reason.

"WORKING! You make us leave America, England, everywhere so you can still work? I love Switzerland, but you basically drag me here, so you can continue to do something you ran away from. What does Simon have you up to now? Another failing solo career? You know damn right, Liam, that you aren't the same without them."

He glanced away from me for a second. I've hurt him, and I'm glad I did. I didn't ask to Switzerland. He told he wanted to quit work, live peacefully. Well it has been anything but.

"I'm glad I know how you feel now," he starts, and I mentally roll my eyes.

Thanks Liam. Let's through you a pity party.

I reach for the hospital phone and dial to the operator. Leave it to the girl in with vertical stitches in her wrists.

"Hello, operator. I would like to make a collect call to the United Kingdom." I burned my eyes into Liam as he watched me make the phone call. Within in moments I was greeted.

"Hello?" The familiar husky accent.

"Harry? It's Boston. I need you, Louis, Zayn and Niall to get on the next flight to Switzerland."

"Why?" He yawned. Did I wake him?

"Isn't it obvious?" I try my hardest not to laugh.

"Wait. What? No way!"

"Who is it?!" It was Louis' voice in the back.

"Boston," said Harry. "She's in Switzerland."

"Harry. Harry!" I tried to regain his focus. "It's an emergency. Liam's being, well Liam and I'm…I'm in the hospital."

"What? Why?" He was really stressing his five "w"'s

"You know," I started.

"Boston, did you…?"

"Yes, but please. Come."

"We're on the next flight." The phone line went dead. Soon I wouldn't be so alone. Soon I might not have Liam again.

Not with the ridiculous glare he was giving me. You would've sworn I destroyed something precious of his by calling his past friends.

Maybe his 'career'?

God, I hope so.
