A Child's Worst Fear

This is going to be my first play. I don't how it will turn out, but I wanted to try it.

This is a story of a girl named Annabelle, she's just six years old living in an abusive environment. The only light in her dull, oppressive world is her mother. That is until an unspeakable event ruins everything she has to live for. Her father in a rage murders her mother, leaving her alone with a monster.

Years pass and she meets Xavier Winters, a smart, kind, and cute piano player at her school. It seems fate had given her another ray of hope, and a chance at love after all the years she lived without it. Will Xavier help Annabelle learn to love again or will he be taken away as well? Or will he prove to be just another monster?

Find out in 'A Child's Worst Fear.'

P.S- Any movellians under the age of thirteen should not read this play, it contains sexual content and innuendos. I don't want this removed so please, be responsible.

3. Act Three-Papa

Act Three-Papa

Intro- Annabelle walked into her home later that day still smiling about finally making a friend, and how he had put Them in their place in English, and the song he had sang to her, on her mother's old piano. She didn't want her father to be home, to ruin her good mood. She entered the kitchen placing her bag on the bar stool. Time to make dinner for her father. Looking around the kitchen Annabelle couldn't think of what to make without having to go to the store. She had lied to Xavier earlier, that she didn't know how to cook, she was good at cooking. Finally she decided on potatoes and roast chicken, she couldn't find any vegetables so she relented on just making the meat and starch. Hopefully her father would understand.

(Half way through preparing dinner, her father walks through the front door. The potatoes were cooking in the microwave and the chicken was half way done. Annabelle had found a can of carrots hidden in the cupboard, and she was adding brown sugar to them.)

Father: Girl! Is my food done yet?

Annabelle:Almost ready Papa.

Father: I want it in twenty minutes you hear?

Annabelle:Yes Papa.

(The chicken was done, and the potatoes were done. The carrots were a sticky mess, since they had been so old. Crying, Annabelle put everything on a plate. She knew she was going to beaten, just because of crummy carrots.)

Annabelle: Papa, dinner is ready.

Father: Bring it in here.

(Annabelle entered her father's study nervously. Somewhere in the house the door bell rang. Saving her from a beating.)

Father: Go get the door. If its a friend of yours send em home.

Annabelle: Yes papa.

(Annabelle left the study without turning her back, the way her father preferred her to exit. She went to the door, wondering who possibly knew where she lived. Opening the door Annabelle found Xavier whistling softly and holding a flower. She gasped in fear. If her father knew she let a boy follow her home he'd be even more angry they usual.)

Annabelle: Xavier what the hell do you think your doing?

Xavier: Giving you a flower. I heard there's a dance in a couple weeks. I wanted to know if you'd join me in attending.

Annabelle: I loved to, I would but my father would never let me.(She looked into the window next to her, and noticed some of her make up had smudged off revealing the bruises underneath. Had it been like that all day? She looked directly at Xavier, hoping her face would clue him in on why her father wouldn't let her.)

Xavier: Anna, what happened to your face? Did your father do that?

Annabelle: Shush, yes he did. Now you know why I don't have friends, why I wear so much make up, and why I'm in no clubs.

Xavier: I'm going to get you out of here.

Annabelle:No stay out of it, just be my friend.

Xavier: Why won't you let me help you?

Annabelle: Because you hardly know me. You just met me. I'm sorry if you think you're in love with me already alright. But I can't be in a relationship. My father would kill me.

Xavier: Fine Annabelle. I won't help you. I'll be your friend. But you can't change how I feel. Have a nice weekend.

Annabelle: You to, Xavier, you to.(Annabelle closed the door and returned to her father's study where he was eating his food. The carrots were gone off the plate, he had eaten them. She was sure he wouldn't and would throw them at her, like he's done on so many occasions.)

Annabelle: Papa, how was your dinner?

Father: Fine, it was fine. Go do your homework.

(Annabelle found it strange that her father was being so nice. She hurried out of the room and made sure the kitchen was clean, it was she grabbed her own food and headed upstairs with her bag. She didn't have any homework per say, but she did want to think about what just happened outside with Xavier. She went onto her computer on her Sociobug page, a girl posted a YouTube video of her and Xavier singing the Snow White Prince Charming song. She decided to watch to see how it looked. Her heart broke when she saw how in love Xavier was already with her, and she just broke his heart. She looked down at the new friend tab, and found Xavier's page. She hit 'chat'.)

Annabanana57:Hey:)

XavierthePianonerd: Hey:)

Annabanana57: I'm so sorry about earlier.

XavierthePianonerd: Its cool, really I'm sorry. I know its crazy.

Annabanana57: No its not. Its sweet. No one's loved me so fast since my mom.

XavierthePianonerd: Give it a chance?

Annabanana57: Yes. I'll see if I can go.

(Annabelle signed off with a smile and logged off her computer. She then got ready for bed. Dolly sat on her pillow. Memories of the many nights she spent crying into the doll came rushing back, but the memory of Xavier's hugs and love chased them away.)
