Ruined my life

Alexis, the girl that everyone loves- except for me. How did she find her way into my life and ruin it? This is the real story, and I'm telling it all from my memory.

7. Mom Making our Situation Worse

"Well, what did you say to her?" I asked Brittany.

"I told her that I couldn't have a sleepover. I just can't believe that she lied to your face!" Brittany almost shouted.

"Yeah, thanks anyway." I said to her.

"Your welcome, I would never go against your back like that. I just had to tell you." Brittany explained.

"I know right, hey do you want to have a sleepover?" I asked her.

"I'll go ask my parents when they get home from work." She said.

Then, she closed the door and I was alone outside. I walked back over to my house and told my mom about this, since she would most likely want to know.

After I told her, she was pissed. It was actually kind of funny though. My mom was always the type to protect her children, no matter how small the situation was. She was kind of overprotective. Not this time though. My mom just wanted me to confront Alexis.

*A few Weeks Later*

Brittany was over at my house, and Alexis has tried many times to join us, but I always said that I was busy. I still hadn't confronted her, and my mom was trying to get me to do it. Finally, it was just time to get this over with.

Brittany and I were sitting on my bed in my room, until my mom came in with the phone in her hand. "Now you can't chicken out, this has to be done." My mom said in a stern voice. Dang, she was ready. "Fine." I said. I really didn't want to do this. My mom was just going to cause more drama.

After a few rings, Alexis answered

(A-Alexis, U-Us)

U-Hey! It's Samantha's mom, Samantha has to tell you something.

I was too nervous, I couldn't do it. I knew I had to stall.

I swear it did go on for this long, until Brittany and my mom interrupted.

U-What Sam is trying to say is that she knows you lied to her, and she needs to take a break. Same with Brittany.

That was what made it get awkward.

A-Okay, bye then.

After we both hung up, I did not feel relief lift off of my chest, like most times when I confront someone. Just an awkward tension, through the phone call, if that is even possible. I just felt like something more could be done, because the phone call just made matters worse.
