3. chapter 3

“oh Catharine, nice to see you, where have you been living? He asks and I know I need to lie to this man because if I don’t I will be brought to the station and then transported to the orphanage “some nice folks.” I tell him trying to pull off the realist smile I can “really? What’s there names?” he asks “um you wouldn’t know them, there friends of my parents.” “Catharine look I’m not stupid I know your lying to me and I think that you should come with me to the station we can help you.” He says with a smile that is so fake “I don’t need help and I do have guarding.” I state “come on. “he says and as he’s about to grab my arm I make a break for it, I go into a very fast sprint and I hear the police man get into his car and then the sirens go off, oh no this isn’t good. I continue to run but I hear a car door slam and heavy footsteps running towards me. They get closer and closer and then I feel a hand yank me back and hold me tight “let go!” I yell at the police man “get in the car.” He says “I have some people watching over me.” I say “sir.” I hear someone say from behind me and then the policeman looks at him and keeps a firm grip on my arm “what is it?” he asks “what’s happening here.” The boy asks and I can hear an Irish accent and then I turn my head to see the boy with the blue eyes standing there “well this girl doesn’t have a legal guardian so I need to bring her to the station to get her to the orphanage” He states and then the boy looks at me “that girl?” he questions pointing to, me “yup, she took a run for it but now I got to bring her to the station.” He tells the boy “oh no, I have seen her with some adults before, and I heard her talking to them once, I think you got it wrong.” The boy smiles and then the police man’s grip on my hand loosen up “oh.” He says “ya so no need to bring her to the station. “He says and his Irish accent his thick which is a different sound to my ears because usually all I hear are British accents, “oh I’m sorry miss.” He says and removes his hand from my arm and I shoot him a dirty look, the man leaves and goes back to his car and I turn to the blonde boy “I didn’t need your help.” I snap at him “well it seemed to me that if I didn’t help you, you would be on your way to the nearest orphanage.” He says “I had the situation under control.” I tell him “usually after someone helps someone else the polite thing to do is say thanks. “He tells me “well I’m not like everyone else and I didn’t need your help.” I say angrily at him “I can fend for myself!” I tell him sternly “ya well sometimes we need a little help.” He smiles “why are you smiling, I don’t need help. I’m fine on my own.” I tell him annoyed “really because it didn’t seem like you could handle that police.” He says again “listen whoever you are I don’t need help and I know how to handle situation like that, I could of got away.” I tell him getting even more anger “my names niall first of all and 2nd of all you did need my help.” He says and I don’t say another word I just storm off not even wanting to talk to the boy named niall anymore. But to my luck I hear him following me “wait.” he says but I don’t but even when I don’t he ends up catching up “alright I see you think that you can handle everything yourself so I’m sorry for helping you.” He says and I stop and look at him “well then thank you for apologize.” I tell him and he smiles and I walk away. As I walk I take a big bite of the juicy apple and my hunger begins to calm down. I walk around more trying to find somewhere to sleep for the night and finally I found a spot on the gravel behind a dumpster, I lay down on the hard gravel and shiver due to the cold breeze that hits my delicate skin, I close my eyes slowly and take some deep breaths and then slowly I fall asleep feeling the small rocks on the gravel digging into my back, this was my life and I was completely fine with it.
