Long Lost Princess

In a land far away there lives the Princess you thought you knew. Princess Rapunzel is like nothing any of the stories have described her as. She's no longer the dainty princess left to her own devices, trapped in a tower. She's a bad ass fighting machine. She learns of the Witch's betrayal early on in the story, and the story continues to share her trials of returning to her Kingdom.

3. The Return

 At the Kingdom

The gates fell open to reveal a magical looking castle which she will soon call home. Where she was born. Where she was kidnapped. Where her mother was murdered. Where she was supposed to grow up in. Where her father waited to be reunited with his daughter, that he has waiting for since her birth eighteen years ago. her hooded cape draped over her face shielding her from the outside stares. Victor pulled ahead, he nodded to the guard. Saying something inaudible for her to hear. the guard went wide eyed. Seth's leg brushed against her leather shielded leg. Her head  popped up in his direction.

"We're here." was all he said.

Inside the castle

The castle looked nothing liked she pictured it. The cream colored walls. The room lit with torches hanging from the wall. A long carpet flowing red down the long hallway. Seth walked along side her, on her left. Victor lead a few steps ahead. His hands folded behind his back. His hair pulled back into a short ponytail. She turns her head to look at Seth. His hair reaches a little past his ears, it covers the top half of his eyes. She restrained herself from pushing his hair out of his eyes.

They reached the doors leading to the king's private office. Victor grabbed hold of the big wooden doors. Rapunzel placed her hand on his shoulder.

"Princess, what is the matter?" Concern in his voice. She looked down.

"He hasn't seen me in eighteen years, what if I'm not what he excepted?" A single tear escaped her eye. Seth grabbed her hand, and for the first time since they met he spoke.

"Princess, he has been waiting for you for eighteen years. He will learn to accept you for you. I will be with you through everything, at your side. Unless some greater force stops me this is where I'll be. Beside you." He gave her hand a tight squeeze before letting go. Victor opened the doors. The king shot up from his chair.

"D-Did you find her? Victor please tell me you found her!" he pleaded. Victor step aside.

"Why don't you see for yourself your highness." His eyes went wide at the sight at his eighteen year old long lost daughter.

"Rapunzel? Is that you?" his voice shook. She nodded her head. Tears running down both of their faces. The king eloped her into a bone crushing hug.

Another guard came running down the halls. A very important message to relay to the king. To him the halls kept getting longer and longer. His breathing labored, not from running but what the messenger had said to relay. He pushed the big wooden doors open. Surprising the people inside.

"My lord- the witch- is back!" he said breathlessly.

"What do you mean the witch is back?"

"She was spotted just out- Oh hello Rapunzel, Oh you're here, that means the sighting has no affect right sir?"

"She arrived mere moments ago. Where was the witch seen?"

"Somewhere in the Dark Woods." Rapunzel shut her eyes her 'mother' was looking for her, hunting her really.

"Father; the witch she's looking for me. I'm afraid that we went to exactly the place she imagined me to go. My home."

"What do you suppose we do?" Seth asked his princess.

"I don't know, but I know how to fight...I even know a bit of magic."

"Then we fight her with all our men until she's no more. Meredith will die before the night is through!" The King exited the grand hall and went in search of his knights. His daughter finally returned to him; he wasn't going to let a witch he used to bed take her away again. He entered the Knights Quarters and his men gathered themselves in a line. Except Camelot he laid in his bed, not bothering to tell anyone his true name.

"The castle is to be attacked by Meredith, you will protect our home, and your princess, my daughter, you will fight until the witch is dead!"

"For Temperance!"

"For Rapunzel!"

"For Queen Isabel! For King Braxton!" His knights ran past him and readied themselves for battle. The knight Camelot laid near death in his bed,

"Knight what make of you? How can you lay there, take my medicines and not utter your true name?"

"Sir, I am but a humble servant to you. Why do you insist on my birthen name?"

"I cannot except a liar in the house of Temperance! You would not understand for you are but a liar yourself. How do you come to be so injured? What ails you?"

"Sir I am near death and with death's kiss I will tell you my true name, but you mustn't tell a soul."

"I am King-"

"No I am king."

"Sir, I am King of Camelot."

"Impossible, Arthur is dead, I was at the pyre."

"Now Arthur is dead." The King of Temperance called for a servant to dispose of the delusional man and went to rally his troops. They were going to battle.
