Hidden Industry

All of us listen to music from our favourite artists every day, we watch them on TV, go see them in concert. To us they're just famous people. Five seemingly normal guys enter a typical music contest but soon find out nothing about that industry is normal, including themselves.

Harry’s POV

I winced as I felt the stake dig into my side. The silver was burning my skin. I had no idea who this woman was but her scent was so similar to Lacey’s, it made me not want to fight. I moved us both away from the crowd of girls to a dark alley. She never once moved the stake from me, whoever she was, she meant business. I watched her glance around and then push me against the wall. Her strength shocked me. “Look we’re alone. You wanted to talk, let’s talk.”

She moved the stake away from me and I placed my hand on my side, knowing in a matter of seconds it’d be healed. “You’re damn right we gotta talk. Lacey ring a bell?”

“Yeah... she’s my feeder.”

“You’re what?”

“My feeder. A human who’s willing to let me drink their blood.”

“I don’t care if she’s willing you need to let her go!”

“It’s not down to me.” I pleaded.

“Well she obviously isn’t enough. I mean look at all those people you’ve killed.”

I moved forward and she held her stake in front of her. “Believe me, I have not killed those girls.”

“Course you have. It’s a vampire doing it.”

“You not think I know that? But I swear it isn’t me.” I took a step forward and she held her stake harder. “Look why don’t you come with me and you can see for yourself that Lacey is okay.”

“I swear the second I think you’re not taking me there, I’ll drive this steak straight through your heart!” I nodded in agreement, leading the way back to where we all were, knowing the stake was pointing at me. I hoped she held of her need to kill me, I didn’t wanna die the true death.

Kasey’s POV

As Harry led me into an unfamiliar building, I became uneasy, not knowing if this was a trap. As we reached a closed door, I saw Harry take a deep breath before opening it. I barged past him, wanting to see Lacey. Before I knew myself what was happening, I felt my vampire part of me take over, lunging at the guy kissing her. I sensed he was a werewolf which only made me more angry. I hissed, pinning the wolf against the wall, his eyes were flashing yellow, growls escaping his lips.

“Kasey no! Please!” Lacey begged behind me.

I kept my grasp on him, turning to face her. “Why?” I asked.

“Kasey, I like him. He’s harmless.”

“Lacey he’s a werewolf! Are you actually insane?” I let him go facing her completely.

“No I’m not. They don’t scare me. Hell, Kasey I accepted you didn’t I?!”

“That’s different, I don’t suck your blood or...” I stopped, wondering what bad things werewolves do to humans.

“Or what? Louis doesn’t do anything but kiss me, that’s hardly going to kill me!”

“Then explain to me why you let a vampire feed on you?”

“Because that’s my choice! You can believe Harry is a monster all you like but whenever he feeds, he’s gentle.”

I stifled a laugh wanting to escape my lips. The door opened suddenly, a petite girl with glasses entered, followed by a blonde guy which I believed to be Niall.

“Louis are you ok?” She asked.

“Yeah, necks a little sore though.”

She took one look at me and almost caught me with her hands if it was for Niall holding her back. “Nat you need to relax.” He said calmly.

“How can I relax? I thought I had my hands full making sure Harry doesn’t kill my brother let alone another vampire!”

“I am not a vampire!”

“Yes you are! I can smell you!”

“As can I.” Louis added.

“Again... I am not a vampire. I’m a dhampir.”

“A human and a vampire?” Harry said from the corner. “I’m impressed.” He smiled, something which almost made me melt. But I kept my stern face on.

“Bite me!” I snorted.

“Believe me, I don’t know who you are but you ever touch my brother again, I’ll rip your throat out.” Nat said to me.

“Nat!” Louis shouted. “That’s enough.”

She shot him a glare and I was a little shocked at him not siding with her. Before anything else was said though, Niall led her out of the room. She didn’t seem like the type of wolf you should mess with.

“Kasey, I don’t know what you’re doing here but I am staying and you can either hang around and look out for me like I know you want to or you can go. The choice is yours.”

I didn’t have much to say back, in fact I had nothing to say. She’d given me an ultimatum and had gotten me backed into a corner. She knew I would stay and I also knew it meant watching her being passed between vampire and werewolf.

Liam’s POV

A knock on my door startled me and answering it, I saw Niall holding a very angry Nat very tightly. “Erm you
haven’t seen Sofie have you?” He asked.

“I think she’s with Zayn, I’ll go with you to find her.” I said with a smile.

As we walked to where I thought they were Niall had told me what happened, I wasn’t surprised at her anger. I’d known Nat for a few months and knew how important her brother was to her. Anyone who threatened him in the slightest way had her to answer to.

As we turned the corner, I could hear laughter, I smiled loving the sound of Sofie laughing. The smile soon faded though when I saw her and Zayn rather close, he had his arms around her and she was leaning on him. I could feel the jealousy building. Zayn knew I liked her, I’d told him. Why would he do this?

I stood back, letting Niall ask Sofie to calm Nat down. I almost felt myself boiling over with anger but knew it was pointless. Sofie wasn’t mine, she can do whatever she likes with whoever she wants. Although I couldn’t stand to watch Zayn’s admiring look as he watched Sofie cast her spell, I hated his gaze on her. I slumped off back to my room, wondering what to do.
