Set Her Free

Harry Styles has known something is wrong with him for most of his life. He's wicked smart and really nice, but people don't hang out with him. He gets called 'gay' on a daily basis, although he doesn't know what that means until third grade. He gets called 'weak' when he plays sports, because he's not good at them. He spends too much time looking at the cheerleaders. But it's not because he wants them. He wants to be one of them.

7. The Perfect Date-Which Includes Your Three Other Friends And Someone Who Isn't Even Interested In You-Part 1

Harriet was then led to a French-themed restaurant called the 'Le Restaurant Romantique', which literally translates to 'The Romantic Restaurant'. Guess they weren't trying too hard right there. The outside was pretty plain, kind of unassuming. The roof and walls were a light brown, and the name of the restaurant was blazed across the front in a neon sign, trying to attract attention to them.

Inside the restaurant itself, it was very cozy. The warm amber, honey, and light brown tones of the walls, floors, and tables blended and contrasted well together. There were candles on the tables, hung in little baskets above various places (which didn't look very safe, but it made a pretty picture), and those added well to the overall ambience of the place. The waiters and waitresses were donned in the traditional outfits of waiters, so it was hard to tell which was a boy and which was a girl. Harriet approved already.

There were booths and tables that provided a nice little two-on-two date, and her heart fluttered again. Her palms were all sweaty, her heart was thumping like crazy. Was she having a heart attack?

She was just in love.

Louis brought Harriet over to one of the back tables, where it was mostly empty. Again Harriet's heart pounded so hard she worried her ribs might be cracking.

But then she caught sight of the other three.

Niall was engaging Liam in what looked like a thrilling conversation-for Niall, at least. He was talking at a mile a minute, waving his hands to exaggerate whatever point he was trying to make. Liam, however, looked bored, and he wasn't trying to hide it. Zayn wasn't even listening to them; he had his headphones plugged in.

Zayn was sitting next to Niall, his bag between them, so Harriet and Louis only had the option of squeezing in next to Liam. It made a bit of a tight fit, and Louis made a joke about his bum being so big. But the only thing that Harriet noticed was touchingtouchingtouching.

She and Louis were touching practically everywhere.

Shoulders linked, arms constantly brushing, thighs pressed together. Even their feet were touching.

Harriet hoped Louis couldn't feel her heartbeat, for it was going faster than a tween girl's when she was about to meet her favorite boyband.

"Hello, Haz!" said Niall cheerfully, interrupting himself and making Liam look very relieved. "Bout time, Lou, we were about to send out a search party."

"You looked like you were enjoying talking too much to leave." Louis replied, making Niall chuckle and shrug.

After Liam and Zayn both greeted her, Harriet was left at a bit of a loss for what to do. She'd brought her purse, of course she had, but she didn't have anything she truly wanted with her, not then. She'd brought her iPod, but she felt that would be rude. Even though Zayn was doing it, but that was Zayn's general strategy for most social things.

So she opted for 'quietly listening', just like she always used to.

And as she quietly listened, she found out some things that she felt he might have done better not knowing at all.
