Set Her Free

Harry Styles has known something is wrong with him for most of his life. He's wicked smart and really nice, but people don't hang out with him. He gets called 'gay' on a daily basis, although he doesn't know what that means until third grade. He gets called 'weak' when he plays sports, because he's not good at them. He spends too much time looking at the cheerleaders. But it's not because he wants them. He wants to be one of them.

33. Surprise Surprise

Harriet and Louis enjoyed their lazy days.

Harriet didn't have to be at school, so while Louis was there she spent most of her time getting everything practiced. She'd read that the more you shaved on a certain area, the harder it would be for the electrolysis. So she didn't shave her face. Not that it made much of a difference, seeing as she hardly grew anything there anyway.

Other than the hairy aspects of it, she did more research on some stuff and felt certain about what she wanted to do now.

She definitely wanted some of the facial feminizing stuff. Not all of it, but some. She felt her lips seemed feminine enough already, as did her cheeks. Plus she knew Louis would kill her if anything happened to her dimples. But there was something called a brow lift she needed to look into, and rhinoplasty. That was something for your nose.

She still wanted the orchiectomy, and the 'down-there' bits of the surgery would have to be kept, um...private.

Those were the three most expensive bits of her transition.

The other things she needed to get done was the rest of the therapy-with a COMPETENT place this time-in order to get her letter so she could start all of that, as well as her hormones. More specifically, oestrogen. All of the websites said that the processes for the hormones were patches, pills, gels, or injections. Patches and gels would not be quick enough. She figured she would start off with the injections, and then gradually go from there to the pills. She'd have to ask a doctor first, of course.

She needed that letter. She ought to see if she could get a refund from that place so she could actually do this. That had cost her so much time and money.

When Louis came to her house and they'd kissed and he'd told her about his day and etc etc etc, she told him about her plans.

Her mother and sister were completely in support of her now, so any expenses she couldn't cover, they would help her.

Harriet showed Louis everything she'd looked up, drawn, written down, every single last aspect of her plans.

She also had to live for one year as a woman, which she would definitely do after she had graduated and they had left. Maybe she could go graduation as her true self and start the year from there.

If she had enough nerve, after all.

The next thing she and Louis looked up were better therapy places. Ones in the UK that dealt with transgender people and/or had the experience to help Harriet get where she needed to be.

They found three.

The closest one was a good five miles outside of Holmes Chapel by car.

It sure was a damn good piece of advice from Luna that she get a job when she did.

Speaking of Luna and Terri-Lynn, she had talked to the girls some during her time off. Told them what happened, asked about certain things.

They had said that she had to keep taking the hormones for the rest of her life, even when she got the orchiectomy. She'd asked them what they thought about the rest of her body, see if she passed, and all kinds of things 'trannies talked about when they got together', as Terri-Lynn jokingly put it.

But anyway. She had always received valuable advice from them, and this time was no exception. They had agreed to do some research on places to help her out and they would text her any place that they found out for her. The surgery places, anyway.

But what she had scheduled next week? The week before she'd return to school? Her mother and sister had already paid for it and had it all scheduled down to a T, just for her. A sort of 'sorry you got beat up' present, if you will.

They had scheduled her an appointment with an electrologist that had agreed to remove her face, arms, legs and tummy of hair forever.
