James, Albus, and Lily are all ready to learn magic alongside of Ron and Hermione's kids as well as Neville's, Fleur and Bill's, George's, and all the old characters you have come to know and love, (and hate.....). But when Hogwarts is attacked by some of Voldemort's surviving Death-Eaters, they are forced to use their powers to protect Hogwarts and kill of the remaining Death-Eaters. Oh, and did I mention all the professors are being held captive by the Death-Eaters as well? This book is an action-packed, comedy with a little romance squeezed in here and there.

24. The map

The man was filthy looking. He had a huge, leather jacket on that was covered in dust and mud. His jeans were ripped in several places and his boots looked like they weighed a ton. He looked like he hadn't shaved in over a month and his shaggy hair like it hadn't been cut in years. His wand was lowered, but in his hand threatening.

Roxanne fired a curse at him instantaneously. He swiped his hand in front of him to deflect it without even blinking. He glared slightly at her.

"You and me are going to have some problems if you keep that up." He said calmly.

"Wh-who are you?" Albus stammered.

The man didn't reply and walked towards the back of the room where about a dozen unlit candles were resting. With a flick of his wand, they all instantly illuminated. When he seemed satisfied, he made the chair I had just sat in fly towards him and halt so he could sit down. He stretched back and put his hands behind his head before looking to Albus.

"The name changes quite often." He said seeming to feel right at home.

"Well what is it now?" He shot back. I turned my head to look at Albus.

The man seemed taken aback.

"The name's Talken."

"For now apparently." Rose muttered.

"Rose!" Victoure hissed.

The man didn't seem to notice.

"Might I ask what your doing here?" I said.

He started to clean his fingernails. He didn't look at me when he answered.

"Business."

I rolled my eyes.

"What business do you have here?" I replied.

"I'm here to," He raised his hands and made confetti rain from above him. "To save the day."

When the last of the newly created confetti disintegrated, he looked at Alice for a very long time. His face was the face you made when trying to solve a puzzle. He rubbed his chin before cocking his head a bit and asking a question.

"What's that you got there?" He pointed to the piece of paper I had seen earlier.

She quickly stuffed it farther into her back pocket. "Nothing. Just a spare piece of parchment."

"Really? Can I have a look?" He said stepping forward.

"No." She responded hastily, her voice shaking nervously.

"Why not? Isn't it just a spare piece of parchment?" He held out his hand.

She swallowed a bit before looking at James for an answer. He quickly nodded, seeming equally nervous. She slipped it out of her back pocket before stepping towards James.

He held it carefully as he examined it. He levitated it so he could look at it from all angles. Then he nodded shortly and let it fall into his hand. He pointed the wand in the center of the piece of parchment and spoke loudly.

"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good."

The paper seemed to come alive with ink patterns spreading across the paper. Some curled and flourished while others turned into harsh, dark lines. Talken's eyes lit up as he watched.

"The Marauders' map. My god, I thought it was lost...but here it is. Unbelievable!" He muttered to himself.

"What?" Fred asked looking over his shoulder at the map.

"The marauders' map was created by four students at Hogwarts; mesers Mooney, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs. The map is, well, a map believe it or not" He raised his eyebrows, "Of Hogwarts. Here's the trick, it shows us where everyone in the school is."

"No. Really?" I asked, stepping forward to get a look for myself.

"Here, look!" He said holding it out so we could all see.

I opened it very carefully, in fear it would tear. The map was filled with tiny names floating around with small footprints under each one. I saw someone named Gregory Beavens walking around in the transfiguration classroom. Someone else named Caroline Currey was running from another boy, Devin Watley. Then her name faded from the map and Devin turned around.

Roxanne pointed to the spot where Caroline's name used to be.

"Hey! Where'd she go?"

Talken shook his head slowly.

"Well, when you die, you no longer appear on the map. That's why you don't see ghosts on here."

"Are you saying that she just died?" I said looking at Talken, who was standing behind me.

He only closed his eyes and nodded solemnly. I gasped slightly and Rose looked like she might cry.

"I knew her." Fred said quietly.

"I'm sorry." James said patting him in the back.

Fred just put his fingers in the corners of his eyes shook his head.

We were all quiet for a moment. I just watched a girl die. She's all alone too. Would anyone come for her? Look for her? Wonder where she is?

"Look!" Vicky said pointing at the hallway we're in on the map. "Someone's coming our way!"

The name was Pearce Gilliam and he was in fact coming our way. He was maybe ten yards from the door.

We all scrambled for corners in the room, wands at the ready.

"How do you turn this thing off?" I shouted at no one in particular.

James came running up and pointed his wand on the map and quickly muttered something so fast I didn't catch it. He quickly stuffed it away into his back pocket and grabbed my arm to run behind a stack of chairs. Vicky, Alice, and Fred were huddled together with us.

The door was obviously unlocked since Talken got in. Pearce's footsteps were right outside the door, clunking loudly with every step. He grunted loudly before he rattled the door knob and entered the newly lit room. He bent over and whispered loudly, "Rockwell!"

"Psst! Rockwell!" He stepped further into the room.

Sure enough, Rockwell stepped out from the shadows of which he was standing, although he looked like a totally different man. His maroon cloaks had been replaced with dark black ones like the people that took over. His hair was now black and cropped short, his eyes now an icy grey. Stubble filled his cheeks and danced on his neck in patches. He looked to be about seven feet tall and strong as an ox.

"Romanof," His voice was as icy as his eyes, "Nice to see you. Have we taken the common rooms yet?"

"Not yet, but we have taken the astronomy room and sent up the Dark Mark." Triumph sounded in his voice as he spoke.

"What's the dark mark?" I asked under my breath to Vicky.

"Shhh." She replied quietly, staring intently at the pair of men.

"What lot have you gotten here?" Pearce said looking around the room, anxiously wringing his hands.

Rockwell leaned in to whisper something in his ear. Pearce gasped.

"No! Really?" He looked around once more.

Rockwell nodded his head.

James nudged me with his shoulder and showed me his wand, gesturing his eyebrows over to the men. He held up ten fingers, telling me to fire in ten seconds. I did the same to Vicky, who pulled out her wand. James counted down and as his last finger fell into his palm, we struck.

The room had erupted in loud clangs and sounds of people shouting. I had cast a disarming charm, while Victoure had cast one that I couldn't name that produced a jet of bright yellow light. Once it hit the back of Rockwell's head, hornets spring up and flew around his head. The others cast spells and Rockwell tried to fight back on his own because Pearce dissaperated four seconds after he saw our numbers. Finally, Rockwell dissaperated too. We were all quiet for a second before I shouted,

"What the hell was that all about?!"

"No idea." Fred said shrugging.

"I knew it! I just knew that that Rockwell guy was a lier! From the moment he walked in and claimed he was some big shot potions master or whatever-" Roxanne stopped yelling and slowly turned to Talken, obviously seeing the spooky connection.

"Alright kids, you think I'm a fraud? Go ahead and ask your parents who I am. See what they think of me." Talken shouted.

"Wow," James said disbelievingly,"There's no way for us to prove wither or not you're right."
"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"Me and Alice checked the common room fireplaces before we found you guys, you know, to try to make contact with the outside world or call for help. But they sealed off the passage ways." James explained.

"They obviously know what they what they're doing." Roxanne commented.

"Well," Victoure observed, "Maybe they went here."

Teddy was about to say something before Albus interrupted.

"Guys, we have to go! Maybe Rockwell and what's-his-face will tell the others that we're here."

"He's right, let's-" Rose conceded.

"Of course I'm right. Do you still have the map?" Albus avowed.

"Yeah," James responded. "I suggest we head down," He pointed to the Ravenclaw tower, "this way. It'll lead us to the Ravenclaw tower. Vicky, can you get us there?"

"In less than 5 minutes." Victoure stated proudly.

"Good. Let's move out." He looked around at us all.
