No Wizard Left Behind

In the world of Harry Potter, Harry's kids are off the Hogwarts for their magical education. James, Albus, and Lily are all ready to learn magic alongside of Ron and Hermione's kids as well as Neville's, Fleur and Bill's, George's, and all the old characters you have come to know and love, (and hate.....). But when Hogwarts is attacked by some of Voldemort's surviving Death-Eaters, they are forced to use their powers to protect Hogwarts and kill of the remaining Death-Eaters. Oh, and did I mention all the professors are being held captive by the Death-Eaters as well? This book is an action-packed, comedy with a little romance squeezed in here and there.

12. The horrors

The rest of the day was a blur of anticipation. Waiting for the last class to be dismissed so me and Peter could hang out in the common room. I held my breath for the last 10 seconds of class and hurried out the door as fast as I could. It was still light out as I ran past the open grounds and slowed down as I looked up into the forbidden forest. Colored sparks were cast into the air, over the trees. Red, then green, then blue. I leaned against a pillar as I watched them soar into the air repeatedly. I shook it off and continued running up the staircases.

"Password?" The fat lady looked at me with distaste.

"Astronomer." I said out of breath.

The painting swung open and I stepped inside. I wasn't the first one here but it wasn't crowded like always.

"Hey Lil." Al's voice met my ears. His nose was deep into the daily prophet and his legs were swung up on the coffee table in front of the fireplace.

"Hey." I leaned over the couch and looked at what he was reading about. The headline drew my attention to it.

"Threats at Hogwarts leave parents fearful for attacks." The words tasted like venom when I whispered them to myself.

"Yeah, it's not just gossip anymore." He looked at me like he knew something.

"The bathroom..." He asked me to finish the sentence.

I still looked puzzled.

He let out a sigh. "Lily, she's my girlfriend. We talk about our days."

"Great.." I said still in the dark here.

"For heavens sake Lily, she told me about you eaves dropping!"
"Oh." I rubbed the back of my neck. "That was nothing. All in good fun, you know."

"No, I don't know. You can't just dip into people's conversations."

"It was fine. She's fine. I'm fine."

"No, it's rude."

"Why do you care?"

"I care that you are a well mannered child!"

"I'm not a child!"

"You can't just go being rude to people, Lily."

"Who says it was even rude? Hmm?"

"I say!"

"It doesn't concern you."

"She's my girlfriend. It concerns me." He got up and started upstairs.

"We all know you like Alice." I muttered it to myself thinking he couldn't hear it. He simply stopped clenched his fists and stormed upstairs.

I picked up my books of the couch and hurried upstairs. I walked down the hall and opened the the door with a golden number 3 hanging on it. I was the first one there. All the beds were made and our clothes were tucked away in their drawers. My bed was next to Alice's bed and Dominique's bed was diagonal from mine. I laid on the maroon bed spread and exhaled. That felt good. I tucked away my books under my bed and laid back down. I closed my eyes and thought about the day. So many things happened, all my classes, hearing the threats about Hogwarts, seeing the sparks in the forbidden forest, getting picked on about my dad by Julia and her band of idiots, and....

"Peter!" I sat up with a jolt remembering why I had come early. I dashed down stairs and dove onto the couch. The common room had filled up a bit. Peter still wasn't here. I brushed my hair out of my eyes and looked to my right. I saw a girl with black hair tied up in a ponytail looking at me like I had three heads or something.

"In a hurry?" She said looking me up and down.

I blushed a little. I didn't see her there and I had just dived into the seat next to her.

" no. I was waiting for someone." I chuckled slightly.

She nodded and looked back at the book she was reading.

"I'm Lily." I extended my hand expecting her to shake it.

"Cool." She seemed uninterested and just looked at my hand.

"And you are?" I said lowering my head and looking at her.

She sighed and looked at the ceiling and then at me . "Look, I have to finish this book for ancient runes and if I don't, Professor Binns is going to kill me. So if you could just let me focus and read in peace, that would be great."

"Yeah, sure. Sorry." I got up and moved over to the seats by the window and sat there alone. I looked outside at the beautiful day. Not a cloud in the sky or a chill in the breeze. I opened the window a crack and smelled the fresh air. The Quittage pitch had the Hufflepuff tryouts going on. I saw all the players rise in the air and practice their opening fly in. The students still had their uniforms on. I looked out at the forest and saw the sparks still blazing. It was so strange, so odd. I have never seen anything like it before. It was like fire works or Weasley's Wizzing Weezes. But, different. So different. I snapped back into reality when I felt a someone tap me not the shoulder.

"Hey. I've been looking all over for you."

"I'm glad."

In that moment, something very strange happened then. Seething I don't really understand. All I really remember was the thrill I felt. It felt like someone set you on fire when you're frozen solid, you just don't know if your burning or freezing. When your so upset and crying and then someone gives you a reason to leap in the air with happiness pumping through your veins. Peter's lips were pressed up against mine. His hand held the back of my hand closer to his. And just like that, it was over. All over the fire, the passion, the worry, the confusion of your first kiss, gone. Like it was a puff of smoke that just vaporized away into the air. Gone. Done. He pulled away and looked at me. I showed no expression at all except for a lifeless smile.

"Was-was that wrong?" He sputtered nervously. He was clearly embarrassed and afraid that I didn't enjoy the kiss.

I just looked at him. Studying his face, all the freckles on his face, and those glasses. I took them off his face and continued to study him like a book. Those eyes said so much. The worry, the terror, the panic, the confusion, but one thing I saw was adoration. He adored me. I could tell.

I sort of giggled.

"What are you doing?" He said with panic in his voice.

I brushed a lock of his curly brown hair off his face. I got closer to see more detail. I put my hand up to move another lock, but he grabbed my hand while it was just centimeters from his face.

"Answer me Lily!" His voice was stern now. I notched my head to the side a bit. My expression hadn't changed.

"You." My voice was light and airy.

"Me?" He said not letting go of my hand.

"You, are very odd." I said breathlessly.

"You don't make any sense." He sat down across from me and rubbed his temples.

"Why did you do that?"

"Do what?" He didn't look at me.

"Why did you kiss me? I've only known you for about 24 hours, and you see me at the end of the day and kiss me. And in that same day you hold me hand and look at me like you've known me for a hundred years. Why?" I was serious now. I knew where I was and I wasn't stunned and confused anymore.

"Lily, I've watched you for quite some time now. I visited you in the hospital wing when Teddy wasn't there. I sent that poem with the cala lilies. I saw you in first year and saw how many friends you had and I always wanted you mine, so that I would know what it was like to have them. You were in all my classes last year. I'd see you and Dominique try to do the spells properly and I'd always wanted to laugh along with you when you blew stuff up by accident. I really just wanted you to notice me, and when you bumped into me, it was like a stroke of luck. You spoke to me, and you weren't unconscious, and you weren't injured. It was great. Perfect even. And then you asked me to sit with you at breakfast, and I talked to again. And every time I talk to you, I wished you had done it sooner. I never want are conversations to end. And in transfiguration, when you were getting picked on, I couldn't bare to see you upset. I just grabbed your hand and didn't let go. And when you didn't pull away from my touch, I was so happy. Like I'm top of the world happy. So when I saw you smile at me to say good bye. I felt like someone pumped adrenalin in my veins. All I could think about was kissing you, holding you, telling you about the cala lilies. So when I saw you over here I just did it, and then I saw you didn't pull away and slap me and tell that you hated me. But then you looked at me like you were emotionally drained and it made me so scared that you were going to do all those horrible things. So I'm just- just sorry."

I got up out of my seat by the window and walked upstairs and into my dormitory. I heard Peter following behind me but I closed the door in his face.

"Lily! Lily! Open up! Did I say the wrong thing?" He banged on the door and shouted through the door.

"Go away Peter." I said calmly.

"No. Tell me what I did wrong, I can fix it!"

I opened the door and he was about to speak when already started talking.

"You're ridiculous." I said plainly.

"I'm ridiculous?! Sure you're the one to talk."

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me! I said that your completely and totally ridiculous!" He was shouting now.

"You know what?! You're 13 years old! Think about that!" I hollered it right in his face.

"But I love you." He got really quiet. I did too.

"Get over yourself." Then I slapped him across the face and slammed the door.

I ran over to my bed and grabbed the cala lilies and their poem. I opened the window and looked how far down it was. I dropped both the poem and the lilies out the window. I watched them both plummet towards the ground. But then as they were half way down the path to the ground, a red hex came from the edge of the woods and sizzled the lilies. My heart stopped. Fear flushing over me. More sparks came now shooting at the windows and the classes. Screams came from the common room. I ducked as one green hex flew at my window and just missed my face. It hit a flower pot instead. The beautiful white daisies turned into sickening, rotten and wilted stems. I ran out of my room into the pool of panic. I turned my head searching for my family, but no one was there. I was pushed down the stairs and onto the floor by a mob of people. Someone stepped only leg, but other than that I was fine. I flowed down the river of people, out of the common room, down the stair cases, and into the great hall. All the windows were boarded up with black metal. It was dark, but you could still hear the sounds of jinxes hitting the windows. Headmaster Mcgonagal bellowed through the hall, "SILENCE!!!!!!!"

The whole hall went silent. The people around me, including myself, we're shivering with fear. There were to first year girls huddling together. They had bright blonde hair that went down their backs and sparkling blue and brown eyes to match. One had tears in her eyes and the other had her head down, buried in the other's shoulder. There was a boy who was tall and lanky with curly brown hair and had his wand at the ready. He was in casual clothes, like a few others. Then, three girls in front of me were holding hands staring straight ahead, holding on to any piece of information they could get their hands on. They looked to be in their fifth year. They were still in uniform as well.

"We are to determine wether or not to strike back and attack or inform your parents and hope for the best." Headmaster Mcgonagal shouted.

"Strike back." I muttered to myself.
