The Next Heir

Julia Springforth was someone to be envied at Hogwarts. She was beautiful and had friends who were famous like Rose Weasley, James Potter and Scorpius Malfoy. Despite that, she never felt proud of herself for being a half- veela, thus she kept it a secret. All her life, she asked herself why she was abandoned by her father and then her mother afterwards, but never got any answers. And then, she soon found herself having abnormal abilities… even for a witch.

((The story will start with Julia being in the first year but there will be a timeskip bringing them to the main story - the fourth year.))

"Left and left and right and right and spin and up! And spin and up! And rotate!" The Head Professor of Gryffindor shouted the dance moves, while us Gryffindors struggled greatly to comply with it.

"I'm sorry, Julia. All I heard was left and left and left and fall."  James sighed, shuddering as he remembered the dance lesson. I was exhausted as well.

For three nights now, I had been visiting Moaning Myrtle's lavatory for the strange snake-like voice. No matter how much I tried to solve the strange occurences by myself, I always ended up asking more questions than I had from the start.

"I'll see you later." James smiled, waving at me as he left for his group of friends. He hit the back of his friends' heads when they attempted to wave at me as well.

"Do you have a dress for the Ball yet, Julia?" Rose asked.

We were in our room - Rose, Hailey and me.

I smiled as Rose pulled out an elegant-looking beige colour dress from the box her mom sent.

"That's really nice. Looked much better than the one my grandma packed for me." Hailey groaned, frowning at her own dress. It was very frilly and had a medieval-look.

"How about you, Julia?"

"It... will probably be here."  I hesitantly replied to Rose's question, since my Aunt had never tried sending me anything before.

To be honest, I was secretly wondering if my Aunt might have roasted our owl already, by any chance.

"Well..." Rose pulled out another box from underneath her bed, revealing a beautiful white gown inside it.

"I like it but it's a bit long for me. You're free to borrow it, you know." She smiled, closing the box and giving it to me.

"Rose, it's beautiful, thanks-"

Suddenly, someone barged into the room.

"All students meeting in the Great Hall now." The Gryffindor Female Prefect said.

Rose quickly tucked her box back underneath her bed and told me to put the dress she had given me away.

Rose and I stood up to left.

"Hailey, you going?" I turned around to ask her.

"You guys leave first. I'll catch up sooner or later." Hailey nodded and grinned.

Rose and I were shuffling along the corridors with a bunch of other students - seemed like something big had happened today.

And then, I felt something big slithering along the walls again.

"Master... You must not go with them..." The voice pleaded.

"What are you talking about?" I asked the question inside my head, not sure if the strange voice could hear my thoughts as well.

"Must not go..." The voice cried, dread in its tone.

"The only unaffected place...Master Salazar Slytherin's chamber of secrets... Open it..."

My feet suddenly stopped moving on its own accord, my heart pounding like crazy. No matter how much I hated to explore the school by myself, daytime or night time - it was the only way I could get answers.

And I needed the answers.

"Rose - go first!" I said, going to the side of the crowd and started going in the opposite direction of the flow.

I finally got out of the throng of students, finding myself in the quieter corridors, walking towards Moaning Myrtle's bathroom.

I reached the place just in time to see Moaning Myrtle crying her heart out.

I ran for the tap with the snake carved on it. I touched it, turning it on to see if the pipe had finally worked again, but nothing happened.

"Moaning Myrtle! Is this where Salazar's Chamber lies?" I called out to the sniffing ghost, and it looked back at me angrily.

"What an insensitive thing to ask a crying ghost!" She snapped, her voice squeaky and high-pitched  like usual.

"Just tell me, please! Have you ever seen a secret entrance somewhere in this lavatory before?"  I begged. My thoughts were in a hayware and I felt more frustrated by every passing second.

Myrtle pointed to the sink and stuck out her tongue at me.

"Hmph! I've seen Harry went in there. He said something in a strange language I couldn't understand. And boom! He disappeared!" Myrtle grunted unpleasingly.

I turned away to focus on the sink when Myrtle started babbling about how Harry and Draco had left her in this bathroom alone for ages after leaving Hogwarts.

"Say something in a strange language... What could James' dad have said?"

I inhaled and held my breath for a while, mulling about 'the strange language'.

A strange language. A snake-like voice. A keyword in order to open the chamber.

Open the chamber.

"Open..." I murmured.

"You said something?" Myrtle raised her eyebrow.

Suddenly, the bathroom's floor started rumbling. I pulled my hand away as I saw the snake slithered away from the tap. The sinks separated in two sides, revealing a long tunnel in front of me.
