The Next Heir

Julia Springforth was someone to be envied at Hogwarts. She was beautiful and had friends who were famous like Rose Weasley, James Potter and Scorpius Malfoy. Despite that, she never felt proud of herself for being a half- veela, thus she kept it a secret. All her life, she asked herself why she was abandoned by her father and then her mother afterwards, but never got any answers. And then, she soon found herself having abnormal abilities… even for a witch.

((The story will start with Julia being in the first year but there will be a timeskip bringing them to the main story - the fourth year.))

8. James and Scorpius

"Why did you do that!" Scorpius said irritably, staring at James and Rose, who were sitting next to my bed .

"Hey. Shut it. If it wasn't for her you'd be dead by now." James snapped back at him.

Scorpius face's turned dark.

"So you'd be okay if she might have hurt herself from saving me???"

"I say both of you just snap out of it." Rose yelled, telling them to be quiet. Madam Pomfrey shivered as she walked out of the nurse room.

I was lying on a bed in the nurse room for two days straight already. Scorpius, whose was also unconscious for a day, was lying on a bed on the other side of the room. He seemed extremely annoyed and angry after the incident.

Scorpius wasn't the only one annoyed, though.

The professors were raged about the Dementors.

I frowned, seeing James and Scorpius fighting with each other. Rose was quite tired of the two boys as well.

"There are a lot of gifts on your side, it seem." Scorpius pouted. It was already night time and Madam Pomfrey and Rose had to literally did some magic to drag James out of the nurse room.

James was too protective of me, saying how Scorpius might be ungrateful and say hurtful things. Not only that, Rose told me James was the one who chased the Dementor away.

With the Patronus Charm.

"We can share." I said apologetically. I was afraid he was still mad at me, although it felt quite funny at the same time. The gifts I received stacked up into a hill, while his was a few boxes.

I finally couldn't hold in my laughter anymore and let out a small chuckle.

"I didn't expect you to be so unsociable." I grinned, looking at Scorpius' gifts.

Scorpius sighed.

"You don't hang out with anyone else besides James, Rose and Hailey and you still got gifts." Scorpius said.

"That's not true. I hang out with you as well."

Scorpius and I sat looking at each other for a while, before he decided to apologize to me.

"Sorry, Julia. I was being a total Parkinson this morning and before as well."

I laughed as Scorpius substituted the word 'jerk' for 'Parkinson'. Eric Parkinson, Scorpius' worst enemy, was a not-very-friendly guy.

"So you forgive me?" Scorpius asked, smiling a faint smile when I laughed at his joke.

I put my head down onto my knee, pretending to be thinking hard about forgiving him or not.

"Then tell me what you wanted to say last time." I smiled.

Scorpius's faint smile disappeared.

"I can't, Julia." He replied solemnly.

"Why?" I questioned him.

He looked straight into my eyes, and my heart ached for a moment. He looked so sad.

"You was almost injured because of me. If James wasn't there to catch you, to cast the Patronus spell - you would've been seriously injured." Scorpius snapped.

"Scorpius-" I said.

" I was being childish, mad at you, but you still risk yourself for me. And now you are here, smiling at me like I never did anything wrong." Scorpius buried his face into his pillow, saying his words angrily.

I held my breath for a moment after hearing what had been going through Scorpius' mind this past two days.

James had already told me - the morning after me and James had hid under his insivisible cloak - Scorpius asked for James' advice whether if he should ask me to the ball or not.

The next morning, sunlight engulfed the whole room, hurting my lazy and sleepy eyes. The fever had finally gone now, and I felt better than ever.

When I looked at the other side of the room, Scorpius had already made his bed and left earlier.

"James were babbling the whole night with his friends about how the school's nurse shouldn't let boys and girls stay in the same room, even with or without Madam Pomfrey." Rose sighed, looking very tired.

I thanked her for taking care of me during my stay in the infirmary, and we headed towards our class together.

When Rose and I have already reached the class, we saw Hailey sitting by herself. She seemed nonchalant about us entering the class.

Suddenly, my body shivered.

Hailey's mouth wasn't open, but I definitely heard her said it.

"I wish I never made James and Julia meet."
