The Next Heir

Julia Springforth was someone to be envied at Hogwarts. She was beautiful and had friends who were famous like Rose Weasley, James Potter and Scorpius Malfoy. Despite that, she never felt proud of herself for being a half- veela, thus she kept it a secret. All her life, she asked herself why she was abandoned by her father and then her mother afterwards, but never got any answers. And then, she soon found herself having abnormal abilities… even for a witch.

((The story will start with Julia being in the first year but there will be a timeskip bringing them to the main story - the fourth year.))

3. Friends

"His father will definitely hear about this." Hailey said as we were walking down the corridor for our first lesson of the year - Defense Against the Dark Arts.

"You've been saying that since yesterday's night, Hailey. Give it a rest." Rose reminded her.

For our first class of the year, it was a pretty... complicated situation. Slytherin and Gryffindor were studying together, and the presence of Scorpius wearing Gryffindor uniform did not please the other house.

"Scorpius Malfoy. Thought he was some biggie deal with being a pure-blood Malfoy and all. Look! There he is - sitting together with the mudbloods and traitors!" Eric Parkinson, a loud and proud Slytherin commented disdainfully, looking at Scorpius and the Gryffindors in disgust.

"I heard your Aunt completely fell for his father though, you pig-face." Rose glared at him.

"Just wait until his father hear about this. His only son socializing with  the filthy Weasley. Poor Scorpius might get disowned." Eric snapped back at her and the Slytherins laughed along.

After class, Scorpius approached Rose, Hailey and me while we were on our way to the next lesson.

"Uh... Thanks, Weasley. For standing up for me earlier..." Scorpius murmured under his breath.

"Don't misunderstand me, Malfoy. I was standing up for the Gryffindors, who were being called mudbloods and traitors." Rose replied and smiled proudly.

"And don't get too friendly with me -  I'll be beating you in every class!" Rose finished her sentence and left a stunned Scorpius behind.

4 years quickly passed since the first day we were at Hogwarts, and we soon found ourselves heading towards the fourth year together. With the exception of James of course, as he was older than us an age.

"And Hailey McBeth got the Quaffle!"

The Quidditch stadium roared in excitement. The seats were packed tightly, and everyone was too focused on the game to even complain.

"She passed it to- Oh no! A Slytherin got it but- Yes! It's back to Gryffindor with James Potter and the Quaffle in his hand! And- THEY SCORE! A maginificent throw! An incredibly magnificent throw! 105 to 85, Gryffindor on the lead!"

"Hailey McBeth holding the Quaffle again, she's getting close to the goal post! She's almost ther- A Bludger is flying her way! Oh n- YES! The Bludger was successfully blocked and sent flying back to the Slytherin by Scorpius Malfoy! Gryffindor's offense and defense is on fire today!"

The crowd suddenly screamed.

"Eric Parkinson the Seeker of Slytherin rocketed off with his broom, flying towards the Snitch at an incredible speed! And-OUCH! He got hit by the bludger that Scorpius threw! Scorpius really did put his all into that throw! Oh wait where is the snitch again? THERE IT IS! Albus Potter with his incredible Seeker's skill are so close to touching the Snitch right now. SO CLOSE! And- HE GOT IT! A 150 POINTS TO GRYFFINDOR! THEY WON!!!"

The crowd bursted with applause as Albus held the Snitch up high for everyone to see.

"Too bad that Bludger didn't break Parkinson's face! OH YEAH!" Hailey patted Scorpius on the back full with energy even though it was right after the match.

James, Albus and Scorpius, on the other hand, were dead exhausted to the core.

"Quidditch Players, come outside please!" A professor came inside the tent to fetch Gryffindor players.

Outside on the court, the whole school was assembled. I sat up on the stadium seats together with Rose , waving from above when the Gryffindor team walked by.

"Good afternoon, students of Hogwarts." A professor of our school stood up and spoke into the microphone.

"Like some of you've already known, the Yule Ball was a tradition during the Triwizard Tournament, which had been cancelled a long time ago due to its high death tolls. This year, we are not going to have the Triwizard Tournament. Instead, like many students have suggested - there will be a Yule Ball."

The Yule Ball was two weeks away. Despite that, no one could stopped talking about it.

"A ball? A dancing ball? Why couldn't it be a Quaffle ball..." Hailey groaned desperately.

"Maybe you could try dressing up as a Quaffle to the Ball." I chuckled teasingly.

"For you it would be easy, you can ask anyone and they would go with you. Although, to be precise, you have been asked by 36 males from all four houses, from 4th year to 6th year. And it's only the 3rd day since the announcement!" Hailey threw her pillow at me.

"Now don't get jealous, Hailey. You could try asking Gregory Green, that Chaser from Hufflepuff." Rose laughed.

"I'd rather dress up as a Quaffle."

All three of us started laughing loudly at Hailey's statement.
