OPEN IN THE HOOD’S SPACESHIP. HARPAL IS WIRED UP TO A MACHINE. THE MACHINE SPARKS AND HARPAL’S WORRIED EYES OPEN. THERE IS A COMPUTER SCREEN IN FRONT, WHICH IS MONITORING HIS HEART RATE.

HARPAL: What, is going on?

THE HOOD: Are you scared?

HARPAL: I don’t like to say it, but yes. Yes I am.

THE HOOD: Have you not realised that the reason we made you doubt yourself was so your vulnerability will overpower you.

HARPAL: What?

The Hood leans closer to Harpal.

THE HOOD: Will you not tell us everything we need to know about the Doctor so we can destroy him?

Harpal leans forward…

HARPAL: No.

Electrical energy shoots through the chair, shocking Harpal.

HARPAL: You, are not, going to get anything out of me!

THE HOOD: Shan’t we see?

CUT TO THE TARDIS. THE BRIGHT LIGHT DIES DOWN, AND RORY STANDS UP.

RORY: What, was that Doctor? Mmm?

The Doctor staggers up.

THE DOCTOR: Someone is trying to stop us interfering. Someone sent that light to blind us and, and to stop us interfering…

Amy pulls herself up.

AMY: They didn’t want us knowing what had happened to Harpal, so now we have to go and find him, don’t we?

There is silence for a while, then the Doctor nods.

THE DOCTOR:

Yes, I think we do.

Suddenly, the TARDIS falls to the right, and holds in a still position.

AMY: Um, what was that?

THE DOCTOR: It’s the power, someone is using mass amounts of power and the TARDIS has been affected… this is not good…

RORY: Can we still move?

THE DOCTOR: I can track where the light came from, and we should be able to move fine, but whoever these people-

AMY: Or aliens are, seem to be hogging all he power in sight…

CUT BACK TO HARPAL AND THE HOOD, THE POWER IS HURTING HARPAL’S HEAD.

HARPAL: My head is burning! Stop it! Stop it right now!

THE HOOD: Why should we listen to you?

HARPAL: Because if you’re not careful, that Doctor man is going to come and rip your head off like your friendly Headless monks!

THE HOOD: Is that not what we want? To see the Doctor? To find out knowledge? To destroy him?

HARPAL: Oh, whoops, ARGH!

THE HOOD: Tell me about the Doctor!

HARPAL: I don’t know, I haven’t seen him in a while!

THE HOOD: Do you banish him?

HARPAL: You could say that! But he will not come! He won’t! And even if he thinks he will you’ll wait a long time!

Suddenly, the TARDIS noise vibrates through the room and the TARDIS appears in front of the Hood. The Doctor steps out.

THE HOOD: Too late, he comes now!

HARPAL: Oh, Doctor you idiot!

The Doctor steps out of the TARDIS.

THE DOCTOR: Watch it.

The Doctor Sonics the Monk’s swords. They get shocked by the sparks and collapse on the floor. The Hood holds up his hand to the Doctor, and it catches fire. The Hood’s hand doesn’t burn, but it holds the flame.

THE DOCTOR: Don’t flash your fingers at me.

HARPAL: Doctor!

The Hood shoots a fireball at the Doctor’s feet.

THE DOCTOR: Amy! Rory! Fire!

Amy and Rory run out of the TARDIS with a bucket of water.

AMY: Where’s the- oh real fire!

She throws the water onto the flame.

RORY: Hey fist flame!

Rory throws the bucket of water over the Hood. His hand gets put out, but steam and smoke billows out of the Hood, as water burns his skin. He holds his hands over his head and a bright light fills the room. When it fades the Hood is gone. The Doctor, Amy and Rory walk over to the controls.

HARPAL: You finally got it right!

Amy runs over to Harpal and unties him from the chair. The Doctor walks over to the computer.

THE DOCTOR: It’s the beam, that beam was a teleport beam.

HARPAL: What, that bright light thing?

THE DOCTOR: Yes, seems so. Every time it came about it was locking onto you. And by the looks of things, every time it came it tampered with your mind making you see hallucinations, while the real Hood stayed on the ship, monitoring you.

Harpal walks over rubbing his sore wrists.

HARPAL: Really? I really am a nutter…

THE DOCTOR: No, no your not. Listen, I’m sorry. For everything. I really am-

HARPAL: It’s fine, you know what they say. Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer.

Amy gulps as she knows the truth…

THE DOCTOR: So, are you coming back with us?

HARPAL: Well, if your lucky.

THEY ALL STEP INTO THE TARDIS AND IT DEMATERIALISES.

THE DOCTOR: I think we need a holiday… well another one!

They all step out of the TARDIS and see multi coloured Pyramids of Giza.

AMY: What year is this?

THE DOCTOR: About 200 years on from your time.

TOUR GUIDE: There’s something in the pyramids, it’s taking people, mainly women, and people have said they have seen… spaceships.

HARPAL: Sounds like our kind of holiday.

AMY: Don’t destroy him Harpal.

THE DOCTOR: Sand storm! Everyone inside the pyramid!

Inside the walls crumble separating the boys from Amy.

RORY: Amy!

AMY: Rory!

They hear a SSSSSS sound…

AMY: Oh Doctor…

Amy screams.

THE DOCTOR: Amy!

A vampire steps out of the shadows…

WRITERS TAKE:

I had the idea for this one when I was walking to school. I cannot remember what it replaced, but it was definitely moved to next series. I thought the concept of weakening someone’s mind into making him or her vulnerable. That is pure evil, which is downright manipulation. I thought of ‘The Hood’ idea on Roald Dahl day at school, during creative writing club. The element of the Hood only asking questions was more sinister, but even more so is he breaks that tradition and says simple things like ‘Yes.’ I thought it would be good to bring back the Headless monks too, as the Hood and them go hand in hand. I did hit rock bottom at the end of part 3 as I had writers block, but then I realized that I had written the ending before I had finished part two! I scrolled down in the document and copied and pasted it in! It goes from when the Doctor finds Harpal on the spaceship! I love things like that; it makes everything so much easier…

I actually started writing this one when I had finished the first part of episode 8, so my writing order was a bit funny! But when you have an idea, you've got to go with it!
