Scurrilous Stories

"I-It can't be..." she stuttered, stepping back and dropping the black shotgun that was in her hand.
"I-I didn't know it was her love. Please..." he coughed out, crying.
"You killed her!" she screamed, breaking down and collapsing on her knees.
"Baby please. I love you." he said, as she looked up.
There was a brief silence, before a cough was heard.
"I love you too." she cried out, burying her head in her hands.

13. Unaware Usher

|Chapter 13|

Unaware Usher

Nadine Halliday walked through the front door of her Aunty Sienna and Uncle Bruce’s house.

It was large wooden two-story house, with a neatly trimmed front-yard.

They had a huge backyard, with several maple trees growing here and there. Nadine’s bedroom was on the second-story, and her window overlooked the school.

That’s right; she now lived right across from the school.

She carried her box up the stairs and into the bedroom. She placed the box on the floor and looked around her new room.

Whenever she visited her aunty and uncle, she always stayed in the living-room (or down-stairs) and she never ventured into the bedrooms.

Not that she wasn’t allowed, she was just simply not interested.

Her room was a dull mauve color, and her window was covered with a white sheer curtain. She had a window seat that curved outwards in a crescent shape.

That would explain why, in the middle of the top story from the outside, this window seemed to stick out more.

Her room was slightly bigger than the one at her old house, and there was a walk-in closet.

There were floor-boards underneath her feet, which she was quite used to.

She walked out of the room, down the stairs and towards the front door to collect her other furniture and boxes.

“Sweetie, Uncle Bruce will get your other things, just sit down.” Aunty Sienna said, her soothing voice making Nadine smile.

“Do you want a hot cocoa?” Aunty Sienna asked, running her fingers through the ends of her short black hair.

“Um, that’d be great.” Nadine said, smiling warmly at her aunty.

Justin Bieber ran down the steps of the entrance of the movie theater, with Nate close behind him.

“Hey you kids get back here!” the loud voice of an usher called, pushing past the crowd.

Justin and Nate chuckled, and held onto the packets of crisps and candy they had in their hands.

They just smashed a vending-machine.

Justin’s knuckles were still bleeding from the cuts the glass gave him, but he didn’t care.

Nate and Justin used to do troublesome things like this all the time and they found the fun in making people’s lives difficult.

Of course Justin would get a shouting-at later, when the cops call his dad, but he was too stuck in the moment to care.

Justin led Nate towards an alley-way, where a large wire fence was blocking them from escaping.

“Here, I’ll help you up.” Nate said, breathing heavily as he interlocked his fingers and bent his knees.

Justin put his foot on Nate’s interlocked fingers and Nate heaved him up, so he can have a better hold on the fence.

When Justin was over, he clenched his fists and his eyes turned from their normal caramel, to a blood red.

His fingernails grew long and claw-like and large canine teeth replaced his old ones. He gripped the fence and tore the wiring from the steel frame.

The usher was right behind them, and as quickly as Nate could, he ran through the fence.

They ran, leaving the usher confused, looking at the hooded boys from a distance.

Nate laughed and Justin followed, until they stopped running and sat on two tree stumps on the outskirts of the woods.

“Whoa, that was…” Justin started, shaking his head.

“awesome.” Nate finished, giving his best-friend a fist-bump.

It was 5 o’clock at night, and the boys looked over at the sun setting.

“I better be going.” Nate said, looking down at his watch.

“Yeah, me too.” Justin agreed, and the two man-hugged and walked off their separate ways, both with candy and crisps in their jackets.

Nadine Halliday woke up, from her mattress that was on the floor. They hadn’t quite put her bed together yet, but Nadine didn’t mind. She sorted all of her clothes last night, so she stood up and walked towards the closet.

It was Tuesday; the day Levi asked her out on a date.

She decided she’d give him a chance as it wasn’t fair to him if she didn’t.

But she couldn’t help but think of Justin.

He claimed her loved her, although he knew nothing about her. He would probably be torn if he found out Nadine went on a date with Levi.

Nadine shook her head from her thoughts and looked through all her clothing. She never knew she had so much, until it was all spread out like this.

She ended up pulling out an army colored button-up jacket, a sandy colored cardigan, a gray v-neck and a pair of black tights.

She slipped them on and tied the laces of her dark-brown combat boots.

She tied up her long dark brown hair and grabbed her backpack before walking out into the hallway.

The boards creaked underneath her feet and she walked down the stairs and into her aunt’s 1960 style kitchen.

She placed some toast with jelly spread on the dining table just as Nadine sat down.

“You look gorgeous Nadine.” Aunt Sienna complemented Nadine on her outfit.

“Thanks Aunt Sienna.” Nadine replied, smiling at her aunty before picking up a piece of toast.

When she finished her breakfast and ran upstairs to do her make up, brush her teeth and hair and have one last final check in the mirror she grabbed her phone and saw a new text.

Rach <3:

Hope ya dont mind. Gave levi ur number xx

Nadine huffed, before sighing. If this date really did work out, he’d have her number anyway.

Its alright. Thanx for telling me tho :)

She walked back downstairs, out the door and towards the school entrance. She met Rachael by her locker and gave her a hug.

“You look great.” Nadine said, admiring Rachael’s hot pink pleated skirt and floral sweater tucked into it.

“You too.” Rachael said, winking at Nadine before Nadine felt hands on her hips from behind.

“Guess who?” Levi’s raspy voice whispered in her ear, making her turn around.

Levi licked his lips while looking down Nadine’s body. Nadine snapped her fingers and said,

“My eyes are up here boy.”

Levi smirked and looked into her eyes, pulling her closer to him.

“Morning babe.” he said, kissing her cheek.

She put her hands on his shoulders and rubbed them slightly, before taking them off.

“Morning to you too.” She said, before the bell went.

“See you tonight baby.” Levi whispered to her, before walking off with Ryan.

“He’s really hot Nadine.” Rachael said as they reached their homeroom.

Nadine breathed out loudly before replying,

“Yeah, I know.”
