"I-It can't be..." she stuttered, stepping back and dropping the black shotgun that was in her hand.
"I-I didn't know it was her love. Please..." he coughed out, crying.
"You killed her!" she screamed, breaking down and collapsing on her knees.
"Baby please. I love you." he said, as she looked up.
There was a brief silence, before a cough was heard.
"I love you too." she cried out, burying her head in her hands.

|Chapter 42|

Radiant Reunion

“Come on Justin!” Nadine encouraged her boyfriend, pushing through the hoards of people to reach the right airport terminal.

“Babe! Wait up!” Justin chuckled, coming up behind her and sliding an arm over her stomach, stopping her in her tracks.

After a few huffs of breaths, Nadine calmed down, turning around and placing her hands on Justin’s shoulders.

They successfully made it to the right airport terminal, ready for their hour and a half flight to New York City.

Nadine was particularly excited, and wouldn’t stop jabbering on to Justin about how excited she was on the hour and a half drive to Toronto.

Justin just merely beamed at her the whole ride to Toronto, finding it extremely adorable how she would just ramble.

Justin slung his backpack off is back, removing himself from Nadine and taking a seat on one of the plastic waiting chairs.

Nadine took a seat next to him; resting her head on his shoulder and looking out at the night sky of Toronto, over the tarmac the planes were landing and taking off from.

Justin placed the backpack in front of him and unzipped it, reaching in to pry his cell phone from one of the inside pockets.

He turned it on, searching in his contacts to finally sight Nate’s name in the bold type.

He tapped on his contact, going through the procedure you use to call someone.

“Yello?” Nate’s voice boomed through the speaker, making Justin jump slightly.

“Whoa dude.” Justin chuckled, leaning back in his chair as Nadine removed her head from his shoulder, looking at him with raised eyebrows.

Justin pointed to his cell phone and mouthed ‘Nate’ to Nadine. Nadine nodded her head, understanding, and went back to looking out the large windows.

“Ah, you got to Toronto safely bro?” Nate asked curiously.

“Yeah, we’re all good. We have to wait about an hour until out flight. And it’s what, nine o’clock now?” Justin stated, looking down at his black wristwatch.

“Yeah, oh ok. Glad to hear that.” Nate replied, as Justin heard talking in the background.

“Has the annoying-ass boredom-enticing ‘party’ started yet?” Justin asked, squinting his eyes as he heard the whiny cry of a two year-old.

“Yeah it did, half an hour earlier than expected.” Nate clarified, Justin nodding his head to himself.

Jeremy informed Justin on Saturday, that Sunday night would be a pack meeting. He also stated there would be an after-party type thing to “look forward to” afterwards.

The parties were always boring, for the two teenage boys anyway. The older werewolves would all sit in a corner, smoking cigars and playing several games of Blackjack, until the whiskey had run out.

The middle age ones would chat aimlessly amongst themselves, taking the odd sip of red wine.

And finally, the teens, would sit on the couches in Uncle Steven’s games room (that doesn't have any games) and play on their phones, starting the odd small talk.

It was mainly because there were no girls to muck around with.

Not that Justin would muck around with any girls now that he’d found his mate.

“Lucky you.” Justin sighed, looking over at Nadine who was smiling up at him.

“Alright, well remember what you have to tell my dad? Ok? I’ll be back in a week.” Justin stated, finishing off the conversation.

Nate, with a quick ‘goodbye’, hung up.

Justin sighed again, putting his phone back into his backpack, looking over at Nadine.

“So whatcha wanna do?” Nadine asked, giggling.

“How about… this?” Justin suggested, getting up and walking towards a luggage cart, wheeling it over to Nadine.

“What are you implying?” Nadine asked, standing up and straightening out her black and tanned stripped v-neck, walking over to Justin.

“Hop on.” Justin nodded towards the cart, Nadine immediately backing away.

“There is no way I’m going on that thing, plus, we’ll get in trouble.” Nadine stated, crossing her arms over her chest.

Justin mocked her, crossing his arms over his chest also, and sticking out his right hip.

“Plus, we’ll get in trouble.” He said, putting on a high-pitched voice.

“Hey! I sound nothing like that!” Nadine implied, pouting.

“Awww baby.” Justin cooed, walking over to her and cupping her face, kissing her lips.

“Fine, I’ll have a go.” Nadine huffed, looking around the room and spotting a family of a mother, father and four kids.

There were only the odd businessmen and woman sitting on the seats with earbuds in their ears besides the family.

“Great.” Justin cheered, and Nadine on the cart.

“Daddy!” Nadine squealed, running into the arms of Aaron Halliday, who gratefully took his daughter in his arms.

Justin stood back awkwardly, watching the reunion of the pair.

“Who’s this?” Aaron Halliday asked, pulling away from the hug as Justin approached them.

“Um, I’m Justin, sir. Nadine’s boyfriend.” Justin formally stated, sticking out his hand for Aaron to shake.

“Boyfriend huh? Hello Justin, I’m Aaron.” Aaron smiled at Justin, Justin smiling back in appreciation.

Justin was nervous, but when Nadine took his hand and intertwined their fingers, he felt calmer.

“I hope you’re looking after my daughter.” Aaron said, pointing a finger at Justin.

“Of course sir. I wouldn’t think of hurting her in anyway.” Justin confirmed, shaking his head, Nadine frowning at her dad.

“Dad, don’t scare Justin away.” She whined, Aaron chuckling in reply.

“Don’t worry, I like this kid.” Aaron said, leading the couple towards his black BMW.

“Wow dad. Got a fancy car?” Nadine asked, giggling, as Justin took her suitcase.

Aaron opened the boot and Justin slipped the two suitcases, his backpack and Nadine’s tote bag inside, shutting the boot afterwards.

“Yes I did pumpkin. Now let’s head to my apartment. I know you guys must be tired.” Aaron said, as the time was about 11:30PM.

“I’m hungry. Can we stop by McDonald's?” Nadine asked, Aaron nodding in agreement.

“What do you think Justin?” Aaron asked him, turning around to face him.

“Yeah, it’s all good.” Justin reassured, as Aaron pushed the keys into the ignition, Justin grabbing a hold of Nadine’s hand.
