Scurrilous Stories

"I-It can't be..." she stuttered, stepping back and dropping the black shotgun that was in her hand.
"I-I didn't know it was her love. Please..." he coughed out, crying.
"You killed her!" she screamed, breaking down and collapsing on her knees.
"Baby please. I love you." he said, as she looked up.
There was a brief silence, before a cough was heard.
"I love you too." she cried out, burying her head in her hands.

7. Dear Diary

|Chapter 7|

Dear Diary

Nadine Halliday was walking home through the woods that night from the café. Her path was lit by her cellphone as she trekked past the fallen branches and loose twigs. It was particularly chilly that night, which completed the feeling of eeriness.

Her breathing got heavier as she heard rustling in the bush. That familiar pair of red eyes lit up the blackness of the woods.

Her breathing hitched as she saw the red eyes coming closer. She looked around before she realized where she was.

She was in the same place she was in when she had the wolf encounter.

Her eyes switched to the red eyes and the figure became clearer. It wasn’t a wolf; in fact it was a human boy.

She gasped as his eyes became a caramel color. She pointed her cellphone torch at his face to reveal that flawless face she saw everyday at school.

As much as he scared her, she had to admit he was absolutely flawless.

“Justin?” she asked, as he stood 2 inches in front of her.

“Yeah?” he asked his voice in a hoarse whisper.

“What are you doing here?” Nadine asked, surprised that someone was here this late at night.

Yet again, she was there, wasn’t she?

“I can ask you the same thing.” His voice chuckled, as he pushed his body into hers. It sent shivers down her spine, and she had the urge to kiss him right there.

“w-well I come home this way from work…” she stuttered, dropping her phone on the dirt floor, cursing her sweaty hands.

“Well, as for me, I spend most of my time here.” He said, in yet again, a whisper.

She nodded and looked his straight in the eyes.

His eyes trailed down to her lips before meeting her eyes again. He started leaning in, and this time, Nadine didn’t reject.

Just as his lips were hovering over hers, Nadine couldn’t take it anymore; she pressed her lips to his.

He smiled before grabbing both of her hands, intertwining their fingers. She pushed her body against his, kissing him hungrily.

He’s always been the weirdo, the troubled child, the one that doesn’t want anything to do with anyone.

But now, all he wanted was her.

She pulled back, breathing heavily. He looked at her, with loving eyes.

“I love you.” He said, kissing her cheek.

She sighed, and pushed him back, making him stumble slightly. She ran a hand through her hair before running down the path, as far away from him as she could.

What was she thinking?

As much as she wanted to kiss him, she barely knew him and, he was the trouble-maker.

A tear trickled down her cheek as she saw the front of her house. She ran up to the front door before feeling a hand on her shoulder. She gasped and turned around to face Justin, who had red eyes.

“Why don’t you love me?” He whispered, shaking his head.

“Justin, I don’t know why you suddenly love me, but it has to stop. And why are your eyes glowing red and how did you get here so fast?” Nadine asked, as Justin stepped back.

He didn’t answer all he did was run into the dark woods.

Freaked out, she walked into the house to face Aaron who looked at her with raised eyebrows.

“Who were you talking to?” he asked, loosening his tie.

“Ah… no one.” Nadine replied hurriedly, before rushing to her room.

Aaron confused, shook his head and walked to his bedroom.

Nadine took a shower, dressed into her pajamas and tucked herself into bed. She looked over at the clock which read 11:20PM before scrambling into her first drawer for her diary.

The thick diary that had a silver cover and a pretty diary lock was given to Nadine by her mother before she died.

Nadine never knew what happened to her mother, who was a school teacher.

Her dad told her she was in a tragic car accident when she was 8.

Nadine was crushed for sometime, until she had to move on and be happy, just like how her mother would have wanted.

Dear diary,

Today Justin harassed me again.

At school, he gave me a bouquet of my favorite flower and it was a really sweet apology. He apologized for kissing me, remember when I told you about that, diary?

Then, afterwards he didn’t talk to me but I still felt the burning sensation of eyes at the back of my head, like always.

Thomas wouldn’t leave me alone about the kiss all day as well. Thanks to the Elrod twins, the whole school has a picture of that kiss.

To make matters worse diary, when I was coming home from work through the woods like always, I saw this pair of red eyes.

Like those that would belong to a vampire or werewolf.

Justin emerged from those bushes, and he attempted to kiss me.

But diary, when his lips were hovering over mine I had this urge to kiss him and I did.

Then I ran and he wasn’t there when I reached my front door, he was no where in sight. But then, he tapped my shoulder.

It was like he came from the shadows diary.

His eyes were red and then I knew that something was strangely off.

Were they contacts?

He asked me why I didn’t love him then when I asked him to stop, he bowed his head and walked away.

This brings me to the decision I had to make by Monday.

I can choose to live with my dad in New York or live with Aunt Sienna and Uncle Bruce, my dad finally decided.

It’ll be hard.

That’s all for now x
