Scurrilous Stories

"I-It can't be..." she stuttered, stepping back and dropping the black shotgun that was in her hand.
"I-I didn't know it was her love. Please..." he coughed out, crying.
"You killed her!" she screamed, breaking down and collapsing on her knees.
"Baby please. I love you." he said, as she looked up.
There was a brief silence, before a cough was heard.
"I love you too." she cried out, burying her head in her hands.

4. Chemical Confusion

|Chapter 4|

Chemical Confusion

Nadine rushed into the cafeteria, following closely behind Rachael. Rachael was walking hastily towards one of the round tables, before anyone else could get it, Nadine guessed.

When Rachael finally settled in one of the seats, she opened her brown paper bag. Nadine took a seat next to her, and took hers out also, to open it and reveal a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

She unwrapped the sandwich from the plastic covering, and took a bite out of it. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat, still feeling the sensation of eyes burning into the back of her head.

Rachael looked up from her lettuce and cheese sandwich to look at Nadine, who was squirming in her seat, with furrowed eyebrows.

“Ah Nadine?” she asked, putting her sandwich down from her mouth.

“Yeah?” Nadine asked, gazing at her best friend.

“What’s wrong?”

“Oh um well… nothing I just have a bit of a stomach bug.” Nadine said, pulling the sandwich down from her mouth as well.

Soon, she smelt an unfamiliar cologne and felt a sudden coolness take over her body. She looked over at Rachael, who was staring behind Nadine with wide eyes.

‘I need to talk to you.’ The threatening and raspy voice of Justin Bieber spoke into her ear. She gulped, as his soft but cool fingers grasped her wrist and pulled her up.

She hesitantly followed Justin’s lead, which led them towards the benches outside.

“Ah w-what do you want?” Nadine asked, fiddling with her fingers.

“You.” Justin growled, walking towards her.

Nadine looked up at Justin weirdly and started moving back, soon to be pressed against the wall. Justin smirked, and pressed his body against hers, his hands laying flat against the wall on either side of her head.

Nadine gasped, and tried to hide the fright that was showcasing on her face.

“b-but-” she didn’t’ get to finish off, because Justin smashed his lips into hers, catching her by surprise.

It wasn’t a rough sloppy kiss; it was a gentler hungry kiss.

Nadine, still in utter and complete shock, placed her hands on Justin’s chest and pushed him off.

When Justin’s lips were detached from hers, he had a glint of need in his eyes.

“What the heck do you think you’re doing?” Nadine screamed, throwing her arms up above her head.

“I need you.” Justin muttered, looking in Nadine’s eyes lovingly.

“What the heck are you talking about?”

“I love you, don’t leave me.” Justin protested, placing his hands on Nadine’s hips. Nadine, who was as confused as hell, looked to her side, where she saw Loretta and Louise Elrod, the gossip twins, gaping and taking snapshots of Justin and Nadine with their smartphones.

Nadine, completely ignoring what Justin said, pushed him off her with all her strength and an away from him, just as he tried to grab her wrist.

Justin cursed underneath his breath, and watched his love run into the cafeteria and the gossip twins still taking pictures.

To him, popularity and having friends didn’t matter, all the mattered was Nadine.

Nadine huffed angrily as she left the school-grounds, not bothering to wait for Rachael. She trudged towards the curb of the road, before sitting down on it.

She didn’t care that the school-grounds were just clearing now and Justin could still be out there.

In every one of her classes, Justin was there. And after that kiss she couldn’t seem to get her mind around him.

She shook her head, before taking her hands away from her face when she felt a tap on her shoulder.

She whipped her head around to see Justin, his back-pack slung over one shoulder. He gave Nadine a soft look, as in to say ‘what’s wrong?’.

Nadine angrily shook his hand off her shoulder and got up, dusting off the sand her skinny jeans attracted.

“Hey.” Justin said, grabbing her elbow before she could walk off.

She gasped at his touch, before slowly turning around to face him.

“What Justin, you haven’t stopped bugging me all day.” She muttered between clenched teeth.

Which was true, Justin had come up to her every time they had a break between classes. He also sat next to her in the study hall.

But what really annoyed her was the fact her kept on saying ‘I love you’ and ‘I need you’.

“I-I, I just wanna say, I love you.” He said, before dropping her elbow and walking in the other direction.

Nadine, still flustered from the things Justin has been saying to her, walked home with her head hung low. She didn’t know what to make of the things he said.

Was this just a stupid prank?

She shook her head until she saw the entrance of the woods. She started walking on the familiar track, to hear, yet again, rustling in the leaves.

She whipped her head to the left to see a boy, running through the bushes.

Her eyebrow rose as she watched him disappear behind a few trees. She shook her head absent-mindedly before continuing to walk through the woods.

When she reached her street, she dusted off the twigs and leaves that happened to catch on to her jeans, and trekked towards her front lawn.

She pulled the house key from her pocket and slid it into the lock. The door clicked and she twisted the knob, opening the door.

She lazily tossed her bag to the side and ran a hand through her hair. The familiar smell of her house filled her nostrils, as she walked towards the kitchen.

All of a sudden, she felt vibrating from her pocket. She pat her pocket, until she found out it was her phone that was buzzing.

She looked down and pulled it out of her pocket, quickly switching it on. She looked through her messages, until she found the new notification.

Rach <3:

Where r u? R u @ home? Call me

She rolled her eyes at her protective best-friend before dialing her number.

“Oh thank god Nadine!” she sighed into the phone.

“What?” Nadine chuckled into the phone, pulling a cookie out of a jar.

“I thought Justin kidnapped you!” Rachael shrieked, making Nadine break out into fits of laughter.

“I don’t think he would do that.” Nadine said.

“Well with that whole, ‘I love you’ thing, I wouldn’t be surprised if he did.” Rachael huffed into the phone.

“No don’t worry, I’m fine at home.” Nadine chuckled.

“Ok good. Oh sorry sugar, daddy wants me.” Rachael said, before bluntly hanging up.

Nadine sighed, before finishing off her cookie and trudging towards her vacant room.

Although what she didn’t know, was that someone was watching her through the windows.
