1. Drowning

 

I was swooned into it--

Eyes shut to the lid
with the trembling 
brows touching the end,
The only seconds I am feeling.

Lungs ballooning their 
extent;
I think I'll just
burst with these dewy
needles stitching my 
body down and down.

The foam hammer my
my drained hair, and
I loose grip of the 
metal air I was holding up.

There's water, water everywhere
Holding up against my
numb-delusion-struck body--

To wink the sail 
with its blithering, bloody red flag
leaving me to fight my last infinite breathe:

The spin-drift sheets cover my corpse
and mourn with the
waves of the thunder.
