Way worse. She has to escape this madness. She tries many times to escape to the woods, but will she make it and see a familiar face?
Or fail again?

10. Survival

It has been months since I ran far away from that sick, twisted man. I've thought about Jay, whether that gunshot killed him. I thought about if I'll ever see my dad again. I thought about my mom. Surviving isn't hard, nor is it easy. There's a lot of animals to eat, yet they can kill you if you don't pay attention, and a lot of weapon material. I've learned how to make clothing, and blankets. Every once in awhile, I'll hear voices, and hide. I know it's him. He's looking for me. The sick, evil man. I'm hunting him down. Well, after I make the most strongest, powerful cross bow ever known.

I finished spinning the blanket I made for Midnight. I've trained him to be the most powerful, smart, athletic dog known to man. He hunts fish, birds, and doe, and other certain things, then brings it back to me if he finds anything. He always knows where I am.

"Good boy Midnight," I said softly, praising him.

I started the fire by the little stream and grabbed my pot. You'll never believe how much stuff you'll find in the woods. I prepped the fish and put it in the pot, taking a stick and moving it around the pot so that it would cook evenly. I got up and went over to a berry bush. They were raspberries. I went back over to my fire and grabbed the basket I weaved awhile ago. I walked back over and picked a bunch of berries while Midnight was out searching for turkey. I finished picking my berries and returned to my fish, flipping it. I heard a noise, and grabbed my basket, quickly climbing up a tree. I boy came walking by, looking around. I crouched behind a big branch and waited silently.

"Where could she be?" the boy said, looking around.

"I'm not sure. But I want her dead."

Jay's father, the one who raped me. I gasped silently.

"Look," he said, walking over to my fire.

"A fire. She has to be here," the man said.

"It could be anyone. She could be dead by now."

"Listen Tyler. This girl, is alive. I want her to suffer. I want her to die. I want to kill her, slowly, and painfully."

"Yes sir," the boy hung his head.

They walked off moments later and I hopped down from my tree after making sure it was safe. I took my pot off of the fire. It was perfect. After letting it cool, I pulled a piece off, tasting it. The flavor was outstanding. Midnight came running back to me with nothing.

"Nothing boy? Alright... That's okay... Here," I said, handing him his own fish.

I put a handful of raspberries in my mouth. The flavor of them popped. It was so delicious. I finished my meal, cleaned my hands and items, packed my things, and ran to my shelter I made with Midnight. It was built into the trees to keep us hidden. I climbed up after putting Midnight into the basket. Once I got up, I set the basket and took off my jacket and shoes and laid down. I relaxed my body and fell asleep silently, with Midnight curled up beside me.
