Whisperers

-I have chosen to display water in a different way, linking it to supernatural entities and Greek mythology-
KEY: SELENE IS THE NAME OF THE MOON. HADES IS THE GOD OF THE UNDERWORLD. HELIOS IS THE GOD OF THE SUN.
Greek mythology says that the Styx Rivers lays in between the living and the underworld and is used to ferry the dead across. This poem expresses how some souls have clung to the water, unwilling to pass on into the underworld. (The dead sing every night until dawn breaks). This poem also has a major connection to the novel I am currently writing and am hoping to enter into next year's Movellist of the Year comp.
Enjoy!
Any feedback is welcomed :)

1. Whisperers

Crisp wind billows

streetlights flicker,

After light falls

the water of the river

Starts to whisper.

A thousand voices overlap

and murmur

a haunting whistle they become.

The songs of the spirits hum,

the water embraces collected souls

basking in Selen's infinite beauty.

The water: serene and still

caresses the singing souls,

unwilling to pass

into the hands of Hades.

The sweet voices fade and wither,

the water silencing

as Selene succumbs to the break of dawn,

The radiant light of Helios ushers

the souls to sleep.
