1. Sirens of the sea

Sirens of the sea

Sirens of the sea,

I wonder where they’d be.

Sirens of the sea,

Would they swim with me?

Sirens of the water,

Who butcher and they slaughter.

Sirens of the water,

Who make men’s’lives shorter.

Sirens of the waves,

Who hide in crooks and caves.

Sirens of the waves,

Who of men make slaves.

Sirens of the ocean,

Who show no human emotion.

Sirens of the ocean,

Who like to cause commotion.

Sirens of the rivers,

Who kill and eat the livers.

Sirens of the rivers,

Who cut men into slivers.

Sirens of the lakes,

Who are nothing more than snakes.

Sirens of the lakes,

Demeter’s mistakes.

Sirens of the streams,

The mistresses of schemes.

Sirens of the streams,

Whose livelihood does gleam

.

Sirens of the sea,

What do they mean to me?

Sirens of the sea,

The root of a poisonous tree.
