Movella Reviews

Hello everybody! This is a completely unoriginal idea but here I am, starting a movella review report. I can't review anything marked as red (not old enough) but I can read over anything marked green or yellow. I would prefer not to have fan-fics about 1D or Justin Bieber, but if it absolutely desperate, I would be more than happy to review it. Just leave the name of your book in the comments below and I will review them ASAP. :)

27. Two-Faced- MahoganyPumpkin

Have you ever come across a book that is so original that you just set it down for a second and stare at a wall thinking: How? How does one come up with such an idea? Well, I can say happily that I have just read such a story called Two-Faced. If you like stories that inspire you to continue writing (or in my case make me feel totally hopeless :D) read this movella now!

Tallie's mother is murdered and this changes her life forever. She then decides to take the case into her own hands and face the horrors of the difficulties of the law. BUT then she does something that is so ironic and ingenious of the author to include in the plot, it makes you read on with much vigor. This being the first part of the plot made my mouth drop open alone. I LOVE these kinds of stories as usual they are written by admirably intelligent people. It gave me goose-bumps when I read the first chapter- that fast paced yet surreal chapter about the night of the murder. I wanted to especially compliment MahoganyPumpkin on her use of setting. "He broke in one cloudless night, with only a slice of a crescent moon for a witness, a gleaming dagger in his sweaty palm" I am one of those writer's who constantly forgets to write a good setting. It's so imperative to do something like this because imagine if she had put something like this instead: "He broke in one night." I know, right? It's crazy what a good setting can do because it really sets the location apart and makes the story real. Also, I just wanted to comment on how the author dropped an 'and' between "witness, a gleaming dagger..." It just makes the writing so much more poetic. I love it.

As you read on, you realize that your butt is on the very teetering edge of your seat and your about to fall (even though you know exactly what crime is going to take place.) It's like one of those survival TV shows where you know the climber is going to survive because he's being interviewed but you still need to SEE the helicopter rescue him. I knew the mother was going to be murdered but the way MP wrote it was just so.... tense.

Then when I got to the part that said "Mother was but a crumpled corpse on a fluffy carpet." I can legitimately say I went to hug my mom.

The story goes on but I will not say what happens because you NEED TO GO READ THIS MOVELLA. If you aren't into books like this and you like say, romance, this is perfect for you, Honestly, I can say that David is perfect. I have a lot of 'book boyfriends' as I call them (can't get one in real life and they aren't as good in real life, anyways) and David is now on the list.

So please lovers-of-geniusly-written-books, go do yourself a favor and read Two-Faced by this amazing author!
