Movella Reviews

Hello everybody! This is a completely unoriginal idea but here I am, starting a movella review report. I can't review anything marked as red (not old enough) but I can read over anything marked green or yellow. I would prefer not to have fan-fics about 1D or Justin Bieber, but if it absolutely desperate, I would be more than happy to review it. Just leave the name of your book in the comments below and I will review them ASAP. :)

25. Redemption: A Batman Fan-fiction- Prez

To be quite honest, I've never really known that much about Batman. Oh who am I kidding. I've never watched or read anything to do with Batman but when I read this fan fiction by Prez and ZombieFantasy, I realized that I would be watching a lot more Batman.

The thing that's difficult about writing fan fictions is that not all your readers would've read the original story, however, Prez and Zombie managed (once again) to keep me completely enticed in the story even though I had never really come across the characters before, which is really saying something because it just means it was superb writing throughout the whole story.

Anyways, moving on to the start of the story, I was automatically drawn in by the top of the chapter where it said '2:45 A.M.' It was a great setting starter to feed a reader because already, at this time, the reader knows something seriously kick-butt exciting is going to happen, because, let's be honest, what cool action story starts off during the day? Exactly. The night is a much more suspenseful and mysterious setting, full of tension, which is perfect for this type of genre. Next, the author went into more depth about the scene. "A skinny, silent, form stood watch over Gotham from a rooftop." Okay. Admit it. You were like 'whoa, a tsunami of awesomeness just washed over me from that simple description. I mean, I can totally imagine this tough but frail, dark figure just staring into the night, their realm. Prez and Zombie only fed the reader a little information about everything in small amounts, which is perfect because it leaves the reader craving to find out more.

We then start to find out bit by bit more about this mysterious character known as 'Blackbird.' (How cool is that name?!) I loved the description of the attire she was wearing, especially the part about the ninja mask and how it only showed her blue eyes and nothing else about her identity. So, I for one, was wondering the whole time 'Who is this chick?" when the chapter ends perfectly revealing her identity. Her name is Jessica Theresa Quinzel Nicholson, daughter of the joker and I'm not so much under a rock that I don't know who the joker is and to realize how major this moment is. One of the biggest villains of all times has a daughter!! How cool is that!?

Another thing I loved (just a little tidbit) is that Jess ties her hair back in PIGTAILS! Not a messy bun, for once, thank the good lord. That's another great thing about the story. All people have odd quirks about them so to make good, realistic characters, they all need to have their oddities. Jess's mom had a cool one too, I though. For instance, you know when she gets really angry when she looses her Brooklyn accent. It's tiny stuff like this that really bring a story together and make it feel real.

It's hard to write action scenes, let alone action stories so I really appreciate this writing. Prez and Zombie seemed to effortlessly make the story move along not too fast but not too slow whilst giving it this mysterious and creepy atmosphere, which was imperative to the story. Also, to build on this, they didn't forget to add character's backstories, which are also quite important because it gives the characters depth.

I don't want to spoil this great read for all of you guys reading this but I will say it  was written perfectly, ending touchingly but also giving quite a bone-chilling effect. So, to wrap this review up, I just want to say congrats to Prez and ZombieFantasy for yet another amazing installment of writing!
