Movella Reviews

Hello everybody! This is a completely unoriginal idea but here I am, starting a movella review report. I can't review anything marked as red (not old enough) but I can read over anything marked green or yellow. I would prefer not to have fan-fics about 1D or Justin Bieber, but if it absolutely desperate, I would be more than happy to review it. Just leave the name of your book in the comments below and I will review them ASAP. :)

20. Broken Barrier- Goldilocks'

Honestly, Movellas may as well just give Goldilocks' first prize right now for the Catching Fire competition because writing can't get much better than this.

In this story, Goldilocks' re-wrote an event from Catching Fire. I loved this because, as a fanatic reader, my mind always drifts of to thoughts like: 'Well what if this happened?' I don't know if you guys do this but I know I always do.

In Goldilocks' story of Broken Barrier (love the title), she does everything right, from simple things like grammar and punctuation to bigger things like up keeping the character's personalities and adding beautiful description.

One of the things I personally noticed was the inner character dialogue. Goldilocks' use of Katniss's inner thoughts were very engaging and colorful and she also added and array of rhetorical questions that kept the reader interested such as : "And Peeta, what would happen to him?" Some people might think that this is a small aspect of writing but its the small things that count because they all add up to the big picture.

Furthermore, I adored the description all throughout this piece. "Branches dropped like feathers as I swerved around tree to tree." I mean, did anyone else get a perfect picture of what was happening- I know that I certainly did. I love the line about the branches- it was just such a nice simile, I thought that really added to the effect of the story.

I also thought that the line at the end (when Katniss was walking towards her possible death) that went "One foot, two feet" over and over. It added a lovely rhythm beat which actually seemed to match the reader's heart beat at that point in the story which was a great writing tool to use.

Overall, I just loved this writing, Goldilocks' has some serious skills!
