4. Bonding Time

The car ride with Harry wasn't quite what I expected. I imagined a quiet awkward car ride listening to only his band's songs. Quite the opposite. We got along. We talked almost the entire time. And when one of his songs came on, I basically had to beg him to leave it on so I could hear it. One direction wasn't as bad as I thought. They were extremely talented.

"Wow!" I exclaimed after Best Song Ever played, "You guys are good!"

"You've really never heard us?" Harry laughed, in the drivers seat.

"Well, not really," I admitted, "But I wish I had! You guys are great!"

"Thanks!" Harry grinned.

"So who else is in the band?" I asked, flipping through songs to find another one of theirs.

"There's Zayn," Harry started, "A lot of people think he's a bit shy, but he is definitely not shy!" He chuckled to himself, "Then there's Liam, he keeps us in check. Niall is the only one out of us who isn't from England. He's from Ireland. Louis is the oldest. He acts the youngest." Harry winked. I nodded trying to take it in. There was no way I could remember all of their names and which one was which.

"Anyway, will I be back by tonight?" I asked.

"Yeah, why?" Harry replied.

"My moms coming back tonight." I moaned.

"Oh," Harry said quietly, "How do you think she'll take it?"

"Well, they won't get a divorce. I know that much." I replied, staring out the window. I could tell we were just entering the LA area.

"Why not?" Harry asked.

"My mom can't afford a divorce. She can't support five kids on her own." I answered, "Otherwise, she would have been divorced a long time ago."

"I'm sorry to hear that." He said.

"Don't be," I said, "it's not your fault."

We were just beginning to enter LA. I leaned my face close to the window. LA was not as it's perceived to be. It's not all glamorous and beachy. In fact, today was overcast, which made me happy. There is just something about the overcast- rainy weather that just makes me feel good. Maybe it's because it's cold outside, I get to snuggle up inside.

"So, got a boyfriend?" Harry interrupted my thoughts.

"That's a rather random question." I stated getting suspicious.

"Well, I could set you up!" He winked.

"Oh, no thanks," I shrugged awkwardly, "I don't really do... That."

"Date?" He asked, "really?"

"Yeah, it's not really my thing." I returned my eyes to the clouded sky. They were so grey. As if in any minute they were going to burst. Drip, drop.

"I bet there's a story behind it!" Harry exclaimed, "And one day, I'm gonna find it out."

"Mhmm" I mumbled, rolling my eyes.

"So, if you're in an advanced choir, that means you can sing." Harry stated.

"I guess," I shrugged, "why?"

"Well, I wanna hear it." Harry smirked.

"Well too bad!" I spat back, "I don't really sing unless I need to."

"And WHEN would you need to sing?" Harry laughed.

"Who knows, maybe I'll have a Disney moment one day and Burst into song!" I rambled. Harry laughed, which made me giggle.

"Well, we're almost there." He said, exiting the free way.

"You still haven't told me where." I reminded him.

"Oh, it's just this hotel that the lads and I are staying at." He smiled.

We waited at the stoplight until it turned green. We made a tight left through the intersection and across the bridge over the freeway. We made our way through the streets of deep LA. Down the block, I saw a huge crowd of people. As we got closer, I realized they were teenage girls surrounding a hotel. When we approached the hotel and turned into the parking garage, they immediately recognized the car. I flinched as they screamed and ran towards us. However, several men dressed in black faced the girls and stopped them. We drove through the parking garage and found a spot.

"Is this what it's like all the time?" I asked shutting my car door. Harry came out from the other side of the car and led me to the back of the parking garage.

"Not all the time," Harry said, "But mostly, yeah."

"Wow," I simply stated. That was madness.

We approached the stair case that led us to the back of the hotel. Harry used his room key to get us in through a small door. The door led us to a hallway, that led to the elevators. We stepped into the shiny lift. Harry pressed the button for the 7th floor, which illuminated the button. It was only a matter of seconds before we reached our destined floor. We stepped out and walked down the hall.

"I need to grab a few things out of my room," Harry smiled.

He used his key and unlocked another door. Except this time, the door opened to a huge, fancy suite. There was a huge bed and a huge television. The window faced the streets of LA, and in the distance, you could see the ocean.

"Wow!" I gasped, "This is your room?"

"Pretty cool, right?" Harry laughed, pulling something out of a drawer. He then came back over to me, "So, you might need to step out of your comfort zone for this meeting."

"How so?" I asked suspiciously.

"They possibly might ask if you have any talents." Harry said, "and when they say this, you are going to have to perform it."

"Oh, ok." I said, uneven.

"Well, let's get to it." Harry opened the door, and went to another room down the hall. He knocked at the door and waited only a few seconds before the door opened, revealing some men sitting at a table.

"Come on in!" One of them said.
