A boy and a girl travel cross-country to one another, trying to decide whether to run away from their family and religion to marry.

Ezra was starting to wonder if he could afford the double bill. The taxi was taking longer than he thought; what if she turned up before him and saw he wasn’t there? Would she stay for a while, dressed in a white dress so different from Henna and saris? The driver sped up, and his little black taxi’s glossy exterior was lit up by the lights.
