1. 9/11 poem

Eight forty-nine, one thousand feet

Passers-by, fast heartbeats

A thundering crash, adrenaline

The loss of lives, for those within

Surcome by smoke, screams and shouts

One hundred degrees, with no way out

Just to jump, a certain death

Taking in a last, laboured breath

A choice too hard, no time at all

Before the towers finally fall

A cloud of ash, a sickening sight

Each heart stopped, filled with fright

What really happened, that disastrous day

So many lives, taken away

Never forgotten, for those who saw

The tallest towers, stand no more
