A Special Boy

Lilia is 17 years old and she lives with her dad in Edinburgh. Her mum died when she was 12 of cancer. Her dad sells drugs and she sings in a pub Friday and Saturday night to earn money for her dad.

One night, while coming home a man follows her home. That night they are robbed. Lilia runs away and her dad is arrested. While on the run she meets someone. Someone who she's a lot closer to than she thought. Someone she cares for. Someone she loves. Someone who will change her life forever...

1. The Begining

I straightened my hair in the mirror before going and sitting on my window sill. This was my favourite place to sit and think. I would stare out of the window and imagine what life would be like if my mum was still around. Dad, or Paul as I call him, definitely wouldn't be like this. If he had been then my life would have been free of him. But I'm not.

'OI LILIA!' Shouted Paul from the bottom of the stairs. 'YOU READY?!' He bellowed. I grabbed my bag and ran down the stairs. The house stank of beer and cigarettes. He was swinging round the banister when I got down stairs. Just before I got to the door He grabbed my hip with one hand and pulled me towards him. I tried to wriggle away but before I could escape He grabbed my chin with the other hand and kissed me hard. I pushed him away and ran out the door slamming it behind me. I strode down the road and turned left at the end. Edinburgh was busy this evening. I heard the pub miles before I saw it.

The pub door swung open seconds before I got there. I ran through the door before it shut and threw my bag behind the bar. Then I stepped onto the slate platform and turned the mic on. The bar man turned on 'A Thousand Years.'

Afterwards I grabbed my bag and left the pub quickly and hurried back home. I was 2 or 3 blocks away from home when I noticed it. There was a man following me. A man with a black hoodie and blue ripped jeans. I grabbed my bright red hair (Paul had made me dye it) and put it into a ponytail. I jogged to the front door and slammed it behind me. The man stopped and stared at the house before moving on. I ran to my room, shut the door and fell to the floor crying. My life was the worst. This clearly wasn't my moment.
