Teenage Kings

As a new student at HBHS (Huntington Beach High School), Kaylynn is trying to make a new start. Despite her belief, making new friends isn't that hard for her. She meets three boys who are eager to be her friend. But as her social life rises, she realizes that there are many more meanings to the word "like" when it comes to boys. Crushes, let-downs, drama, and cat fights. This will be a school year she will never forget.

5. Chapter Five

Keaton brought me to his car and opened the door for me to get in. We didn't talk or say anything to each other. He shut my door and got in starting the car. He pulled out and began driving on the road.I watched as his friends faded with the distance. Their laughter only got louder though. It filled the silent car.

Keaton turned to look at me and then returned his eyes to the road. "Kaylynn, I'm so sorry about what happened tonight. Wesley isn't always like that. I should have stopped him but  didn't think he was really gonna...I'm sorry." he shook his head a bit.

I looked at him. The laughter came to a stop as he spoke. I watched his lips form every word. He looked at me again. "Are you okay?" he asked. He looked so worried.

I nodded and turned away from him and then shook my head. "I feel sick. The skunk odor is tapped in the fibers of my clothes and in my nose. I'm already being laughed at and it's only my first day here. Yes Keaton I am perfectly 100 percent fine." I groaned.

We drove the rest of the way in silence, I spoke only to give him directions. When he arrived at my small home he helped me out of the car and brought me to the door. I knocked on it and we waited for my mother to open it.

My mother gave me an odd look when she saw me standing on our front porch with a boy wrapped around my waist. Keaton spoke softly, he was nervous. "I was just, uh, dropping Kaylynn off. She uh.."

"I don't feel good." I said before he could finish what he was saying.

My mother let me into the house, I stood beside her looking at Keaton. "Well thank you for bringing her home. I'm glad to see she has a friend and people to hang out with now. She's not very good at making friends." My mother laughed a bit.

Keaton fidgeted his fingers anxiously. "Oh uh yeah yeah. We're friends yeah." Keaton looked at me and then back to my mother.

"Well let's celebrate with some cookies and milk yeah?" My mom smiled big. She was happy that I have a friend but now she was just pushing it. All I wanted to do was go to sleep. It's nearly eleven o'clock. Keaton walked in looking awkward and anxious.

I think Keaton really wants to be my friend.
