It's Kind of a Coincidence

Bella had a kidney transplant when she was sixteen years old. Two years later, she is able to meet her donor, even if she doesn't really want to. Her donor is Tregory Jones. What Bella wasn't counting on was for him to be a beautiful, just out of his teens, boy with the personality of a god.

3. The bed situation.

"Dad!" Trey calls as we walk in. "Is it alright if we hang out here for a while?"

"Who's we?" his dad asks smiling, walking into the hall. He looks kind and nice, the type of guy you could trust with your deepest secrets. Maybe I'm just thinking this because I never had a father figure and I'm reaching out a little bit.

"Me and Bella. She has my kidney inside her body."

"Oh." his dad nods. "Fair enough. You going upstairs?"

"Yep." Trey leads me up the stairs.

"Leave the door open."

"We're not going to have sex."

"Okay close the door then."

"Well now we're going to have sex."

"Open the door then."

I just laugh as this banter bounces back and forth between them. It's great to see. I have never been around boys in my life other than school. It's so weird but amazing to see how they interact. It's a whole new world.

It's also kind of amazing being in Tregory's bedroom. I was expecting a blue bedroom with mess everywhere, but it's nicer than my room! The walls are orange, but that nice orange that reminds you of sunsets. The room itself is immaculate. There isn't anything out of place. Just a big kingsize bed that's perfectly made, a desk with a computer on it and a TV on his drawer of clothes. There are a couple of books and DVDs all put neatly on one shelf of his cabinet and the rest is filled with CDs.

"Woah." I say, looking around. "This is kind of weird."

"Bad weird?" he asks, sounding a little nervous which makes my heart both break and pound because maybe he cares if I find it bad weird.

"No, no!" I promise. "Really good weird. I just can't believe you kept it so... tidy. And you have a hell of a lot of CDs."

He chuckles, scratching the back of his head awkwardly. "Yeah, I think I have a problem."

I turn to him grinning. "Hello, my name is Tregory Jones and I have an unhealthy amount of love for 90's music."

"Hello Tregory!" he says in a chorus voice and we both laugh as he sits down on his bed.

I don't really know what to do. Maybe he wants me to sit down next to him, but what if he doesn't? That could be very awkward. And I can't really ask. That would go well. Hey Trey, shall I sit on your bed with you?  I may be outspoken but when it comes to things like this I go kinda shy.

Instead, I just sit down on the chair and watch him pick out a CD and play it. He doesn't talk about where I'm sitting so I sigh, relieved in my head.

"Ahhhh." I give him a knowing smile, walking over to the CD player, looking at the album. "So you're a Nirvana guy, hey?"

"Would you expect anything less from me?"

"Not at all." I smile at him and then turn back around to the rest of his CDs. "Your music taste is-"

"Pretty good?"

"I was going for freaking awesome, but yeah pretty good too."

I absentmindedly sit down on his bed next to him and my face flushes red, realising what I've done. He just laughs and nudges me.

"This is allowed, you know."

I laugh, feeling a lot more relaxed. "So, what made you give me your kidney?"

He shrugs. "I turned eighteen and just thought I should do something useful with my new found adulthood."

"Oh yeah, I would totally do the same if I had a kidney to spare." I tell him, grinning. "I could give away the one you gave me but I don't believe in re-gifting."

"Yeah, I would have been offended."
