22. Too Good To Be True.

Katie's P.O.V

"Do you always sleep in, or do you just enjoy almost being late to school?" Harry chuckled as I slowly rose from my spot on the bed.

"What?"

"Get up." He laughed. "It's 7:25."

"Oh geez!" I exclaimed, rushing to my closet.

I'm not sure how I did it, but I managed to get myself ready within ten to fifteen minutes. That's record breaking for me.

"Where's Niall?" I asked, not seeing my brother anywhere to send me off to school.

"He's sleeping. It was a long drive for him yesterday."

"Oh." I sighed, walking out the door.

"Where are you going?" Harry questioned as I walked down the paved path.

"Um, to school?"

"I have a car." He stated, laughing a bit.

"Maybe I feel like walking today." I retaliated.

"If by 'walking' you mean 'being late', then fine." He said, slipping into his car.

I stood there, thinking about what he had just said before he rolled down his window.

"Get in." He chuckled.

I made my way back over to the car, happily embracing the warmth of the heater inside.

"Why do you have to be so stubborn?" Harry asked, grinning as we pulled out of the driveway.

"I'm in the car aren't I?" I replied.

I'm not sure how it happened, but we managed to get to school with five minutes to spare.

"It's nice having a car." Harry smirked.

"Whatever." I said, rolling my eyes.

We exited the vehicle and found Louis and Zayn by the back of the school building.

"Hey guys." He cheerfully greeted.

How, Harry? How can you act as if they hadn't done anything to you? Do you not remember who violently pulled you away from me that day at my house? You were all fighting each other. I will never understand male friendships...

"Harry!" Louis exclaimed.

"Why are you so late?" Zayn questioned, no one even paying the slightest bit of attention to me.

"Katie never wakes up." He teased, playfully shoving my shoulder.

I laughed awkwardly as all eyes fell upon me, still feeling unsafe near the other two males.

"Hey, I have to turn in this paper before the bell rings!" Harry exclaimed. "Meet me by my car at lunch, ok?"

"Yeah, sure."

"Alright, sorry I've gotta run boys." He waved his hand and was gone within seconds.

I turned back to face the others, their harsh stares making me cower on the inside.

"So." Zayn smirked. "Louis, do you want to explain it to her, or should I?"

Louis then stepped forward, basically answering Zayn's question.

"Listen, Liam and Harry might have changed, but that doesn't mean we have to. I quite liked how things were before. You're fun." He smirked, gripping my upper arm and beginning to lead me somewhere. I worried as the bell rang, Louis still dragging me to an unknown destination.

"L-Louis, we need to get to class." I said, trying to squirm out of his grip.

"I don't have anything first period." He smirked.

"What about Zayn?" I asked, glancing at the other boy.

"It's not like I've never ditched before." He laughed.

The tardy bell rang as I entered a strange building. I may not have been an athlete, but I could tell by the sight and the awful smell that I had literally been dragged into the locker room.

"What are we doing here?" I questioned.

"Having fun." Louis exclaimed, throwing me onto the floor.

I began to worry again. I also began to wonder what I ever did to them. Zayn and Louis were never close to me years ago, why should they have a reason to hurt me?

"Wait!" I yelled as Zayn lifted me up by the collar of my shirt.

"What?" Louis growled, getting in my face, Zayn's grip never once loosening.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked, my eyes going back and forth to both males.

"For fun. I thought we've been over this." Louis replied.

"But what have I done. There's got to be a reason."

"There doesn't have to be a reason at all." Louis stated. He then took hold of me, Zayn backing off. "Some people just get a thrill knowing they're stronger than someone like you." He laughed, painfully slamming me into a group of lockers.

"Wait!" I said again.

"Now what?!" He growled.

"Harry's going to wonder where I am. How are you going to explain to him where I was?"

Louis glared at me before roughly shoving me away.

"We'll finish later, but if you tell Harry about this, you will be sorry." He threatened.

I rushed off to my class, hoping I could sneak through the door unnoticed.

"Ah, so nice of you to finally join us, Katie." My teacher said. "Would you care to explain where you've been for the past fifteen minutes of class?"

"Um, not really." I awkwardly stated, not even thinking about the words I just said. I didn't mean them disrespectfully, I honestly didn't want to explain.

"Then I guess you won't mind spending lunch detention in the library." He replied, handing me a pink piece of paper.

"W-what?" I asked. I had never been written up before. EVER.

He basically ignored my comment as he advised everyone to turn to another chapter.

"So, are you going to tell me where you've been?" Harry whispered, smirking at me.

I only ignored him, flipping to the correct page in my text book.

"Sorry about lunch." I whispered over to him, only to have ignore me as I had just done to him.

I exhaled deeply knowing I had already ruined the day for both of us.

"Don't eat any food from the lunch room." He grinned.

"I can't leave, Harry. I don't have a choice."

"Just trust me." He said, leaning back in his chair.

I went to question him when the teacher looked up from his desk. My head immediately sank into my text book, leaving me to wonder what Harry was up to.
