34. I'm a Thief...

Katie's P.O.V

"Katie, get up. Now!" Niall shouted, his tone sounding a bit angered.

I went to stretch my arms out when my fist came into contact with something hard.

"Ouch!" Harry mumbled, lightly rubbing his head.

I looked over to see a boy with messy curls laying beside me.

"Sorry!" I exclaimed, putting my hands over my mouth.

"Katie." Niall spoke again.

My head shot in his direction, looking at him with his arms crossed over his chest.

"Yes?" I asked, unsure as to why my brother would be angry with me.

"Is that my Ramones t-shirt that I've been searching for ages for?" He questioned, pointing to the shirt I was currently wearing.

"Um..." I quickly glanced over to my closet, thinking of all the other shirts I had 'temporarily borrowed without permission' from Niall. His eyes followed my gaze before walking over to my closet.

"Katie, are you kidding me!" He yelled from inside the tiny space.

"I was going to give them back!" I defended, hopping out of bed and rushing to my closet. Niall was rapidly ripping things off of hangers or digging things out of piles on the floor.

"How many of my shirts do you have?!" He exclaimed. He was now grinning at me as he tried to muffle a laugh.

"So now it's funny?" I asked, thinking beforehand that my brother was mad at my thieving actions.

"I just think it's funny on how I didn't realize how many shirts I was missing."

"Then you don't need them back." I stated, hastily trying to grab them from his possession.

"I never said that." He chuckled, easily keeping the clothing from my reach. "And I want that one back as well." He stated, pointing to the Ramones shirt that was occupied by the upper half of my body.

"Good luck with that." I pouted.

"Alright, let's try this again. Either you give me that shirt back, or you're grounded and not allowed to attend the show tonight." He smirked.

"What show?" I asked, squinting my eyebrows together.

"Mine." He said non-nonchalantly.

"Wait, what?! When did this happen?!"

"Last night. I need to go rehearse in about an hour, so you'd better get that shirt to me as soon as possible."

I immediately shoved him out of my closet, blindly grabbing a random shirt before throwing off Niall's and replacing it with one of my own.

"That's more like it." He teased, gladly taking the shirt before walking out of my room.

"So are you going to steal my shirts too?" Harry asked.

I spun around to face him, his world famous smirk predictably plastered across his face.

"You know, I just might." I grinned, walking over to the edge of the bed before picking up a red, plaid shirt that Harry had removed before falling asleep. "Starting with this one." I selected a pair of faded skinny jeans before making my way into the bathroom to change. I smiled to myself as I threw on my new found shirt. The scent of Harry's cologne still lingered on the material, causing me to inhale deeply. I found the sleeves to be a bit long as I began to roll the cuffs up my arms. I then brushed through my curly blonde hair, deciding to leave it down in it's natural state. Once a bit of makeup was applied, I exited the bathroom to search for my red converse.

"Looks good on you." Harry spoke, causing me to jump a little as I had forgotten he still occupied my bed. He intently studied me as he propped himself up on his elbows. I tried not to face him as I laced my shoes, feeling my cheeks get a bit warm at his comment.

"Thanks." I finally managed to get out.

He chuckled a bit as he rose from the mattress, making his way over to me. I looked up at him as he stared down at me, his tall frame causing me to feel even smaller than I already was.

"Why don't you keep it?" He smiled, his hands trailing down my arms before firmly finding a spot on my waist.

"You may not get it back." I retaliated.

"I'll take my chances." He smirked, connecting his lips with mine as he gently kissed me. "Wear it to school on Monday." He added.

"Why?"

"Why not?" He replied, shrugging his shoulders. He then retrieved another shirt before going to my bathroom to change.

I decided to leave it at that, knowing Harry had his reasons for everything. A knock was then sounded on my door before revealing Niall for the second time this morning.

"I gave you all your shirts, Niall. I promise I don't have anymore."

"I'm not here about my clothes." He chuckled, followed by a roll of his eyes.

"Oh." I replied, beginning to make my bed.

"So here's the thing." He said, clapping his hands before nervously rubbing them together. I took it as a bad sign as this was a common gesture of his before being the bearer of bad news. "I'm not so sure about you coming to the show tonight."

"What?! That's totally unfair! I gave you your shirt back, and you said-"

"I know, I know." He spoke, cutting me off. "It's just that my producer just texted me the address. I forgot that he mentioned it was at a club uptown last night at dinner. I'm sorry, but I don't think that's an appropriate place for you."

"But I want to be there and support you." I whined.

"I know you do, and I love you for that, but just think of it this way, there will be other shows."

"Yeah, but still.." I sighed, taking a seat on my bed.

"I know you're upset, but please try to understand I'm doing this for you. I don't want you around that kind of atmosphere at such a young age. So much could go wrong while I'm not there to look after you."

"I understand, Niall. Don't worry about it." I said, embracing him with a hug.

I'm not going to lie, it hurts knowing I can't go, but I know he's only trying to protect me. I can't really be mad at him for that.

"I can keep an eye on her for tonight." Harry spoke, now wearing a fresh pair of clothes.

"Thanks, mate. Sorry to leave you all alone, but I'm quite positive the others are going to be joining me."

"That's alright, she's not hard to please. I'll put in a Disney movie and that ought to be good." He teased, smirking at me. I replied by sticking my tongue out at him. "On second thought, I have a feeling she's going to be a handful tonight." Harry spoke, causing us to laugh.

"Well, I hate to run, but I've got to get going to rehearsals. I'm going to be gone all day, along with the others, so you two can go have fun if you want to leave the house. Go bowling, see a movie, blow money on useless junk at the mall, whatever. Just be careful and I'll probably see you tomorrow because I still expect you in bed by a reasonable hour."

"Is that all?" I giggled once he was finished talking.

"I love you." He laughed, hugging me one last time.

"I love you too. Good luck tonight."

"Thanks, princess."

I listened as the sound of voices and a closing door sounded from downstairs. I then watched from my window as Niall's vehicle sped down the road.

"So, what do you want to do?" I asked, now looking at Harry.

"Well first things first. I need to take you to get a new dress." He said, fishing his keys out of his pocket.
