Bitter Sweet

Rebecca's sister is missing.
Without a trace she vanished.

After no evidence as to what happened to her sister, Rebecca takes things into her own hands by inventing a new identity and moves to the American school her sister was once a pupil at.

It soon becomes clear that to find out the truth, Rebecca must battle mean girls, dangerous pranks and dark secrets.

I guess Rebecca didn't know her sister as well as she thought...

2. Chapter 1

I stood frozen, staring at the reflection of a pale girl before me. My blue eyes burned into my body like lasers. The girl I was 6 months ago is all but gone. The day my sister Lena went missing was the day my heart was ripped out of my chest, leaving a hollow black hole in it's place. The need to find out the truth has become unbearable. I can't forget, I can't forgive and I can't move on. I have to find out the truth.

Snapping out of my trance, I threw the hair dye bottle into a metal bin in my bathroom. I'd just finished dying my hair to the thick, dark colour of chocolate. Anyone other than me may have been a little upset that they'd just dyed their silky blonde hair, but I couldn't care less. To complete my new look I unzipped my blue make-up bag which was resting on the side of my sink and pulled out two containers. I opened up each container to reveal a contact lens. I'd never thought about changing my eye colour until I was in my local eye centre and saw that you could buy different coloured contact lenses. Thinking about it now, I would have looked a little weird with chocolate brown hair and blue eyes. That would have caused too much unneeded attention. Carefully, I put each contact into my eyes. After a few seconds of blinking I looked back into the mirror. I couldn't recognise myself anymore.
