J.K. Rowling wrote that Voldemort never loved. But maybe he did. Read about the story of Scott Riddle, a.k.a. Voldemort's son.

4. (Part1) The Sorting

Johnny was dragged off by his sisters when they spotted him. So, Scott followed the other first years to the Great Hall.

Johnny waved at him. Scott waved back nervously.

Then the sorting started.

Professor McGonagall said, "When I call your name, I am going to put this hat on you. This hat will sort you."

She took out a list and said, "Abod, Patrick."

A chubby boy walked to McGonagall. He tripped. Everyone laughed. Patrick Abod turned bright red and walked quickly to McGonagall, falling, again.

When he finally made it, McGongall put the hat on him.

The hat shouted, "HUFFLEPUFF!"

Patrick Abod ran to the Hufflepuff table, tripping three more times.

After a while, it was Johnny's turn.

"Alston, Jonathan!"

As Johnny walked to McGongall, a lot of girls squealed and looked at him, blushing.

The sorting hat took a while to decide, but, at the end, it shouted,

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Johnny ran to the Gryffindor table.

A girl next to Scott whispered, "He even looks handsome when he runs!"

Scott sighed impatiently.

After twenty minutes or so, it was finally Scott's turn.

He slowly put on the hat.

The hat whispered into his ear.

"Tom Riddle's son... I can see it in the blood... The knowledge, too.... Also Rachel Wilson's son... I can see.... Not Slytherin... You're so different from his father..."

After a while, the hat finally shouted-

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Scott took off the hat. Was it just a dream or was it true? Was he really sorted into Gryffindor? He just stood there. Then McGonagall nudged him.

"Go to the Gryffindor table for Merlin's Sake! What are you doing?"

Scott ran to the Gryffindor table. Johnny and he high-fived.

Johnny said, "Congrats!"

Scott made an imaginary message to his mother.

Even though he did it many times each day, this one felt more special.

Mum, I made it. I made it into Gryffindor.

I know that you would've been proud of me if you were here... I miss you...

I understand what happened Mum... I don't think that you would've liked Dad if you know how he really was....

I never misunderstood you....

I know that you are with me always.... I never feel alone.

Then Scott felt a gentle hand on his back. It felt like his mothers...

He turned around. There, he saw his mother... It was his mother.... But she was a faint image...

His mother said, "I'm so proud of you Scott.... I love you..."

Scott tried to reach out to his mother. But he couldn't.

Johnny said, "What's wrong with you mate? There's no one there!"

Scott said, "But my Mum... I saw her..."

Johnny said, "It's your imagination... She's not there, Scott..."

Scott said, "She was there... I saw her...."

But Johnny wasn't listening.

After the sorting ended, they were to go to Gryffindor Tower.

One of the prefects was really bossy.

"Follow me! I'm the prefect! Shut up! I am the prefect! You! Stop fooling around! I shall have to report to Professor McGongall!"

Johnny said, "That's Carlos Rehedis. Jess told me about him."

Scott said, "He's real bossy."

Carlos Rehedis said, "You! First year! Don't talk! How many times do I have to tell you?!"
Then a pretty girl came up to him.

She said, angrily, "Cut it out, Carlos! They're only First Years! And you don't have to be so strict all the time!"

Carlos Rehedis's face turned red and said, "I'm sorry Ananda."

Ananda walked away, looking crossed.

Scott said, "Carlos Rehedis sure does love Ananda!"
