29. chapter twenty-nine

We pulled up at a small cafe and dad turned off the car.

Dad and Taylor climbed out first, and I soon followed, standing up and adjusting the denim overalls I decided to wear. Dad locked the car and we all walked inside, dad's hand in hand with his girlfriend. I lagged behind, taking in my surroundings.

I really liked this cafe. Harry and I should come here sometime.

My eyes hovered over everyone that sat down, smiling and chatting away.

"Colton!" Dad greeted in front of me and my head jerked around to see who he was talking about.

My eyes met a guy sitting there, about my age. His hair was covered by a black DOPE beanie, but from what I could see from behind, he had dark brown, curly hair.

I jogged up to dad and saw he sat down across from the dude, with Taylor following his actions.

The only spot left was next to this guy.

Thanks dad.

I walked up and sat down next to Colton, taking a sip from one of the glasses of water that was already neatly placed on the table.

"Hi, I'm Colton." he smiled, holding out his hand. I politely shook it and looked up, meeting his sparkling brown eyes.

"Katie?" He asked, and my mouth dropped open.

"It's you!" he laughed, my mouth still hung open.

"Oh my god." was all I managed to cough up.

"You two know each other?" Dad asked, chuckling at our facial expressions.

"We- uh- ran into each other at the airport." I chuckled, fiddling my fingers.

"Literally." Colton laughed, nudging me making me laugh as well.

Dad just laughed and soon the whole table erupted in laughter.

I wasn't so nervous anymore.

A waitress came and took out a note pad and pen, whilst she began taking our orders. She walked away and soon came back with our food and drinks 5 minutes later.

Half way through eating, Taylor stuck her hand out in front of her, signalling she wanted to speak, once her mouth full of food was gone.

"Mmm, the reason we wanted to have this lunch was because I-we wanted to tell you something." She explained, and me and Colton exchanged glances, before signalling her to go on.

She took a sip from her Diet coke before continuing.

"You two are brother and sister."
