34. chapter thirty-four

I spotted a large roller coaster in the distance, that was perfect for the plan that was mapped out in my brain.

Earlier, I had carefully got Colton to confess to me one of his biggest fears without him realising.

And yes, you guessed it...

Roller coasters.

"I wanna go on this one." I pointed to the overly large, yellow ride, a huge grin appearing on my face.

"Nononono..." Colton waved his hands, slowly walking backwards, away from the ride, and away from me. I linked my arm with his and smiled.

"We are doing this together." I soothed, handing the cashier a $20 note. She handed me back $10 change, and two tickets that gained us entry to the thrilling ride before us.

"Enjoy the ride." She replied, shooing us away and attending to the couple behind us. The line was only short, and soon we were climbing into the purple coloured cart, pulling down a heavy bar from above, securely buckling us down. A minute or two later, an announcer called out the usual safety precautions, before wishing us a good ride.

The cart started up, dragging us further and further up into the sky. Being the cart at the front, we had a full view of the whole fair, and boy was it breathtaking. A few clicks and crunches sounded from the underneath track, notifying us we were at the peak of the drop. The cart slowly tilted up and over, and Colton let out a high pitched scream the whole drop down, whilst I threw my hands up in the air.

I was enjoying this.

Just like the last ride, a photo was taken at the end, and thats when we exited, me going off in search for the photo booth and Colton staggering off from the ride and to the side fence, where he held himself up for support. I stumbled across it and quickly bought out photo, taking a glance at it. I laughed hysterically at my brothers face.

His mouth wide open and his eyes shut tight.

I proudly walked back over to Colton, where he had just regained his breathing to a steady pace.

"We're even." He breathed, pushing himself off the fence and supporting his weight on just his two feet.

"Indeed we are." I proudly smiled, and he threw me a warmly smile back.

We left the ride deciding never to go on it again, and went in search for some food.
