High What!?!

Vampires-in-training, Erin and his best bud, Rion have to learn to cope with humans. They need to be able to live among humans. And in order to do that, they need to be able to survive the most terrifying thing: high school. But what happens when one curious freshman finds out Erin and Rion's secret?

3. Chapter 2

"Trust me." Erin knows that those two words could only mean one thing: trouble. Rion showed up beside him, a few twigs and grass blades still in her hair. They both shudder at His short but meaningful sentence.

"What is it we have to do this time?" Rion asked with a tinge of rudeness in her voice. Erin shoved his elbow into Rion's gut. She faces Erin with a look that said, "What?!" He looked back with a look of his own that said, "You know what he'll do! Show respect!" She sighs and grumbles under her breath. She turns and faces Him once again and says, "What is it we have to do this time... sir?" she says and bows with exaggeratedness. That's a bit better, Erin thinks.

"Tsk, tsk, Rion. You know better than to have attitude with me." He says.

"Well, sir, not everybody enjoys being thrown off someone's back." She says. He smiles his massive, creepy grin that could make any strong-willed person faint.

"I see. Well, as I was saying, you've been the way you are for four years now, yeah?  So that means you are eight years into Vampirism, correct? And it seems you've been isolated from the real world. Yes, you've been hiding in that sad excuse for a cabin. What I am trying to say is, you need to learn to be among the Breathers. The humans..."

"Humans!?" Rion screeched. Erin, being beside her and having extremely sensitive ears, winced and reached for them to attempt soothing them.

"And thank you Rion, for blasting my eardrum halfway across the world." Erin says sarcastically. Rion looks at him with a sympathetic look sewn on her face.

"Enough," He says. "Yes, Rion. Humans. In order to live in this world, you will have to cope with the Breathers. That means you have to control your thirst for blood, the urge to kill, and the will to hide." Yes, they need blood to survive, yes they kill the breathers when they feel threatened. And yes, they hide. They're like snakes: they are more afraid of them than the humans are afraid the vampires.

"But... but I..."

"Rion. No arguing." Erin says, recovering from the headache she gave him. "I don't like the idea either, but He's right. We have to be compatible with them." He turns to Him. "How do we do this?"

"Glad you asked, Erin. You see, there is this place where kids go. You two must have went there before this happened. You may know it. It's called high school."

"High What!?!?"
