Forever Young

"It was the first kiss and the first time I felt connected to anything."

7. Chapter 7

Eve's POV:

This isn't like the last time I waited for Ashton, last time it was just me waiting for some guy who I failed to avoid. But now, now it meant something. Now I had butterflies, sweaty palms, shaky hands and a heart that beats louder by the minute.

"Just calm down, Eve. It's gonna be fine. Your dad isn't here, Michelle is at a friends house, and Britt's been locked in her room all night." Grace reassures me as we sit on my bed, waiting eagerly for Ashton to arrive. Well, I'm waiting eagerly for Ashton to arrive, Grace is just here for support.

"Yeah, yeah. But what if he comes, takes a look at me, and leaves." I ramble on.

"He won't, Evelyn." Grace says, her tone serious as ever.

"Ugh, don't call me that." I roll my eyes.

"Don't call you what? Evelyn!" She says louder.

"Yes! Grace stop!" I hit her.

"Evelyn! Evelyn! Evelyn! Eve-" Grace shouts as she runs around the house.

"Shut up! Shut up!" I try and tackle her.

We both stop. I turn my head towards the door and stand to my feet, fixing my outfit and checking myself once more in the mirror. Grace is already up and looking gorgeous as ever as my hand shakes reaching for the doorknob.

Ashton's POV:

She stands fearfully in the doorway, looking beautiful as ever, as her eyes glow beneath the dim light.

"Hi." I smile.

"Hi," She grins, Eve looks back at Grace.

"Sheesh, sheesh, I'm going, I'm going." Grace throws her hands up. "You two kids have fun," She winks and walks off.

Eve's POV:

"So…" I say, Ashton is wearing black skinny jeans that cling perfectly to his lower half, a beautiful beanie that pushes his hair back in a way I've never seen before. You can see his face so much better this way, his eyes pop and my heart swells. He's like a work of art.

"Where are we-" I'm cut off by Ashton as he pulls on my wrist and connects me to him, he pulled me in his arms and crashed his lips onto mine. They move in sync.

"Ashton I-"

"I've missed you so much,"

I smile against his lips and decide not to separate from him.

He missed me. He actually missed me. He backs away and looks into my eyes before I can answer.

"Ready?" He asks, I smile.

His car smells the same. The aromas consist of new car, body wash, and sweat. Ashton takes a pile of clothes off the dashboard in front of me and throws them in the back.

"Sorry, at band practice the AC was cut off. Me and the guys sweated like pigs." He laughs.

"The guys?"

"Oh yea, sorry. Uhm, Michael, Calum and Luke."

"Oh, who are they?" I ask, already knowing the answer but wanting to be polite.

"They're my- Oh here, I'll show you." He pops in a CD and presses play.

The song starts and a guy starts to sing, his accent is so smooth, but not as smooth as Ashton's.

"That's Calum," He smiles. "He plays bass and sings."

"And that's Michael," Ashton informs me.

"And this is Luke, singing the corse." He says, I nod and smile and enjoy the music.

"And this is you, right?" I ask, referring to the drum solo.

He smiles. "Yup." He says. "You should hear us play sometime, word on the street is you sing pretty well." He grins mischievously.

"What? No, who said that?"

"I don't know, people."

"Oh, well they're wrong." I say, shoving my hands into my lap and wanting to drop the subject.

"I'll be the judge of that," His dimples pop out.

I choose to ignore his cheeky comment and change the subject.

"So where are we going?" I ask
