A Long Lost Friend

A trip down memory lane leads me to an old best friend, and some new ones too. One Direction fanfiction.

8. Perfect Date

The rest of the boys had gone home, but I was sure that I would see them later. I had gone upstairs to start getting ready for my date when my phone buzzed. It was a text.

From: Louis

To: Kate

Hey babe,

For our date tonight, don't go too fancy. Just wear whatever you want, you'll look great anyway. See you at 8 :*

Okay, so not too fancy. Well that means we weren't going out to a fancy restaurant or anything. I wonder what he had in mind? Shrugging, I walked into the bathroom after grabbing a towel. I put on some music in the background and turned the nozzle to start the shower.

Once I had finished my shower, I hopped out and put a towel around me. My hair dripped down my back and onto the carpet sounding like rain. I chose some clothes and laid them out on the bed. They were a black strapless top with a sweetheart neckline, a pair of dark blue skinny jeans, a pair of beige heels, and beige shoulder bag. I found my gown and put it on and proceeded to do my hair.

I curled the bottoms and left it hanging lose in blonde ringlets to just a couple of inches above my waist. I walked into my bathroom next and put on my makeup. I had grey eyeshadow on and black eyeliner and mascara, making my blue eyes pop. After I was finished, I pulled on my skinnies and my top, slipped on my heels and grabbed my shoulder bag, putting my phone and lipgloss in it.

The doorbell rang as I got downstairs. I opened the door to fine Louis standing on my doorstep wearing black skinnies, a black blazer with a white shirt that had the top two buttons undone. "Hey," he said smiling at me.

"Hi," I mumbled shyly.

"You look beautiful," he said, holding out his hand. I took it gladly and he lead me to the edge of my porch. "Do you mind putting this on for me? I want this to be a surprise." He said, holding out a blindfold. I slipped it on, giggling.

He took my hand and pulled me against him, putting his hand on my waist to guide me. "Don't let me fall," I giggled.

"Why not? It could be fun," he teased me. I giggled and put my hands around his waist as he moved his to my shoulders. "Okay, stop." He said, pulling me gently to a halt. I obliged.

He slipped the blindfold carefully off and I opened my eyes. "Wow," I said, looking around at the beautiful scene in front of us. He had laid out a blanket, set candles up around the blanket and there was a picnic basket in the middle. He walked up to the blanket and picked something up, and then walked backed to me.

"For you," he said, handing me a single red rose.

"Thank you," I giggled, taking it from him. He took my hand and lead me to the blanket. "This is perfect," I sighed.

"I thought that we could eat first- Harry made the food, he's a really good cook- and then we could stargaze?" He asked me. "Only if you want to I mean, we don't ha-" I cut him off with a kiss.

"That would be wonderful," I said, sitting down and pulling him with me. We collapsed clumsily on the blanket laughing.

He brought out picnic foods, sandwiches, sausages on sticks, different types if fruit. We sat and ate, talking and laughing the whole way through. "A drink?" He said, gesturing to the coke he had brought.

He poured some for me and I took a sip. "Thank you so much, this is just perfect." I said, looking at him.

"We're not finished yet, there's still dessert!" He said excitedly rummaging in the picnic blanket. "Chocolate covered strawberries!"

"Yay!" I squealed. "My favorite!" He picked one out and held it for me to bite. I bit into it giggling. "Harry is a really good cook," I said, once I had finished my mouthful.

"He is?" Louis asked watching me with a smirk.

"Definitely. Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked him.

"Nothing, you just got so excited when you saw dessert, it was quite cute." He said laughing at me.

"I like dessert, okay?" I said giggling. I held out a strawberry for him to eat. We continued like this, giggling when the strawberry juice went everywhere.

After we had finished, he lay down and I lay down next to him. He took my hand. "You see there?" He said, pointing with our hands. "That's the northern cross. And there, that's the pole star."

"And here," I said turning towards him. "Is the most amazing, sweet guy I have ever met." I rubbed our noses together before kissing him gently. "This was the perfect date," I said to him, putting my hands around his neck.

"Only because you were here," he said, kissing me.
