3. Who I'm Said To Be

Liam's POV

"And here's your change. Have a nice day." I forced a smile to the customer giving them their sweet coffee indulgence. Yes, I spend my Saturdays at my day job at the local cafe. Not my first choice but it's something manageable.

I was wiping down the counter when I heard the door bell ringing indicating that somebody had walked in. I was so caught up in my work that I hadn't noticed the person walk up to the counter.

"Yeah um, I would like the organic coffee latte with extra whipped cream." It shocked me a bit that I was ill prepared to give my introduction but I was even more shocked when I had discovered the owner of the demanding voice.

I had looked up and was met with that faded red hair, a pair of deep brown eyes, a Monroe piercing and a beanie. All put together as my mystery girl.

I was fumbling over my own words until I found my voice and told her the amount she had owed. She reached into her satchel and took out a 10 and handed it to me. When she reached over the counter and turned her wrist, her flannel rose a bit and revealed a peace sign tattoo. But it wasn't alone.

"Nice tat." I managed to say.

"Oh thanks. I got that when I went to a concert. I was so drunk I don't even remember getting it. I just woke up to it. But I don't regret it."

Yep. Definitely carefree.

"Wow, you're pretty daring." I said as I started on her coffee. I was laughing in my head thinking the same thing for myself. I just couldn't let her get away that easily.

"Eh, you gotta keep up with your image right? I mean I can see that you're doing that with yours."

"How do you mean?"

"Well look at you! You're adorable! Of course I would see you behind the counter of a cafe." She pushed her bangs to the side and gave me a warming smile. I was furiously blushing by now and was somewhat relieved that I was done making her coffee.

I put the lid on her cup and slid it over to her.

"Thanks..uhh..Liam?" She said leaning her head towards me and looking at my name tag.  I gave her a slight nod and she turned on her heel to walk away. Then all too soon she stopped in her tracks and looked back at me.

"Oh and don't think I don't notice you looking at me when you walk by the park. Because I totally do." She gave me an even bigger smile and walked away. Her hand was on the door before she turned her head once more.

"And by the way, the names Diana."
