Daae Prodigy: The Beginning

Linda Daae[a.k.a. Belle] was a regular 14 year living in Dorburgh, PA. Or is she? Belle didn't have anything close to a close childhood living in her mansion full of wizards, benders, and the overall odd people. She must face her whole family to have a normal life. Will she succeed at her goal or fail driving her to the worst possible nightmare a teenage wizard could have?

8. I Thought

I decided to have the Wedding after Christmas since it would be total chaos. Yes I said total chaos. That way, whoever my fiance was, he would think we are crazy and leave! Although we are crazy. I made sure that all the little wizards had new wands, the centaur had new horseshoes, and the oger had new glasses. I got this down.

One week before the Wedding, I finally got to meet my fiance. His name is Michael Worther the Fifth. A total weirdo! We had nothing in common. I'll start with his appearence. Actually he was quite handsome. Tall, black hair, sleek face that hold beautiful eyes. You would think he was a total stud, but you are wrong! All he talks about is his latest success at a spell. Thing is I too was twice as advance as he was. Legendary wizard my butt!

During that week mt mother and my aunt could not stop fighting for the life of each other. They would argue about everything. My mother wanted a small family, church setting wedding. While my aunt wanted a huge public, princess castle setting wedding. I didn't want one at all. I didin't fall asleep that night listening to the disgusting words they at each other. The next three days would be my dress, the place, and the food.

Since I had to, I wanted a big, poofy princess dress my great great grandmother wore to her wedding. This one time my aunt and mother agreed to disagree with me. They wanted a slimming short dress. We all finally decided to have the wedding in the mansion at the private church satisfied both of my wedding planners. The food was a free for all.

"I'm the mother and I say we have a regular menu of picnic items."

"I'm the Prodigy's aunt and I know what to do. I did win lasttime of course. I say we have seafood pasta and English Garden Salad covered in whale oil."

You had no idea what I wanted to say. I wanted to scream out in imaginary agony. You, the reader, is the only person close enough to what was going through my head. I was to be married at age 14 to an absolute loser. Again the question of why came to mind. Why him? Why me? This made me feel twice as worse. I cried the whole night.

I thought that being the Prodigy would be fun and exciting. No. It is a living hell. From being married at age 14 and having to represent your family. The worse part was that you had to protect the whole world. Yes, a 14 year old has the world in her palm and if she slips she gets all the blame. I wondered every night as I cried myself to sleep was if anyone knew what I was going through. I'm acedemically smart, wizardly smart, and athletic. My aunt wasn't good at anything.

It was two days before the wedding when I noticed that Michael was acting really weird. He would never listen to anyone especially his future wife. He definatly had to work on that. All he had did was stare into space but sometimes he stared at my cousin. They made googly eyes at each other which made me gag! At least we knew she had a chance at finding someone because she was ugly. That nighty I saw them walking around the house garden holding hands. I didn't know whether to feel hurt orjump for joy! Maybe I wouldn't have to marry him.

I don't know why but I ended up feeling hurt instead of joy. I guess it was because he was the first boy I kinded like and he chose my cousin over me! For awhile I followed them. I know it sounds like I was spying but not when you try to show yourself but they're too stupid to realize you are there. I overheard them saying the meanest things about me. I would expect it from Christine but I opened my heart to Michael but now I was regretting it.

"I have dealt with her perfectness for the past, uh, [counts 14] 13 years! She is such a perfect bitch! Trust me I won't let her be Prodigy if I have to break one of my nails!"

"I know! She is perfect to the family but you are perfect to me and that is all that matters! You know if one of the partners don't want to marry or does something to prevent it, the two don't have to marry. That means she can't be Prodigy, I think."

I had no idea what they were going to do. Were they gonna run off and get married and screw me over. That wasn't going to happen on my watch. I ran all the way back and woke my aunt up from her after dinner before bed nap. I blurted out everything I heard from those two. My aunt was blurry but understood with wide eyes. she jumped up and called the two in who came in seperate hallways to look like they weren't together. Both denied every accusation and started threatening me with angry looks.

I was starting to worry when I remembered a spell when you can replay what you hear. I quickly conjured up the conversation. Afterward my aunt was fuming with steam out of her ears. The lovebirds held each other like they were in some sappy rom-com movie.

"What the hell were you too gonna do! Run off and get married and screw Belle over!"

Exactly what I said!

"You know what mom! Maybe I will!"

She stormed off. I didn't expect her to do what she did.
