Daae Prodigy: The Beginning

Linda Daae[a.k.a. Belle] was a regular 14 year living in Dorburgh, PA. Or is she? Belle didn't have anything close to a close childhood living in her mansion full of wizards, benders, and the overall odd people. She must face her whole family to have a normal life. Will she succeed at her goal or fail driving her to the worst possible nightmare a teenage wizard could have?

"What!"

"I'm sorry that I had to bear the news. If your mother won she would have told you and probably made this seem easier. And keep your mouth closed, you'll catch flies!"

My mouth was wide open from the shock I couldn't close it, "Sorry Aunt Christine. So who is the guy I'm suppose to marry at age 14?"

I seem to have let some anger out at my aunt because she slapped me and spit back, "Why are you complaining? You're twice as far as my damn daughter! Oh, I'm sorry Belle."

All I did was sit silently. I think I was waiting for my consience to say," You're dreaming! Its alright to wake up. This conversation never happened!" I never got a response. I felt sick.

"W-when is he coming?" I asked now terrified at the idea.

"Why in a few days. You'll meet and get married withen a month. I think you'll like him. He too is a powerful wizard and the both of you could do amazing things!" My aunt seemed excited at that last thought.

Again I sat there in complete shock of marriage! Being comitted to someone for the rest of your life even if you don't want to. It seems nice at first but then you see that person everyday and it must get simply boring. I don't want to sound pathetic but marriage is stupid [at least in my family]. As the thoughts swirled in my head, my aunt spoke up.

"You have to do this as your first duty as Prodigy. I had to marry your uncle the day the Judges told me I was Prodigy. It wasn't that bad."

I laughed a little. I then pondered whether my mother and father knew about this whole thing. My guess they would since they loved keeping secrets about my family from me!

I spoke up,"Can I give you an answer later?"

She patted my knee and gave a consoling look, "Sure but I need it by Saturday."

Saturday? Today is Wednesday! All I thought was I need to talk to my mother! I quickly got up to leave but before I could my aunt called me one last time.

"Oh and Belle, here is something I want you have. Maybe it'll help with your decision."

I frowned but put a smile on before I turned around to see her holding a book that looked like it was from an ancient library from Greece or Egypt. I walked over to see the book torn up and a bit dusty but legiable. On the top it said Daae Family History.  I had never seen that book before in the decade I had been reading in that library.

"It's a book about the Daae Family from the very first Christine Daae to me and will be updated with a page of your own. But if you read about similar situations other Christines had and what they did."

"Wow! Thanks Aunt Christine! I'll use it a lot." I silently walked out of the library and ran to my room which I shared with my cousin sadly. Thankfully she was asleep so I could get a headstart on the book.

What was in the book? Thats the next chapter!
