Fresh Meat

{1D before the fame}I go to school with five of the hottest Juniors you will ever see. I also happen to be a stupid little Freshman. I'm the Fresh Meat of the school, and NOBODY hot notices me, until something shocking happens. Maybe we are just a little more than fresh meat...

5. Maybe You're not a Joke...

Louis' P.O.V

When she said we needed to talk, I got nervous. We've only known each other for, what? A day? But honestly, I felt like I've known her longer. Which technically was true, since I'd been going to school with her since she was in Kindergarten. We never had too much association though. Harry whispered to me to ask her to sit by me in Bio, because I said that she was cute, when we were in 8th grade. I can't believe he still remembered that... I'd had a slight crush on her then, but gave it up when I didn't get to know her anymore because we never saw each other.

She ordered a Mocha Frappacino, with an extra pump of chocolate. I just ordered my usual mocha with an extra pump of caramel. After she said that I replied with a "What's wrong?" She just looked at me, like she was considering her words very carefully.

"I really think you may be playing a joke on me, trying to humiliate the new freshmen, or whatever. Don't the upperclassmen decide on one or two people every year to do that to?" She looked down, like she was being stupid. She was right about the upperclassmen choosing to humiliate the freshmen, but they decided only seniors could do that. I still talked to people and they were doing it to some chick named Chloe, and a boy named Josh. Hopefully they wouldn't be too vicious...

"I'm not part of that until next year, love. That's only the seniors. I really do..." I hesitated, because I really knew what I wanted to say, but I didn't know how to say it, so I just went for it, "I really do want to give this a chance, even if it is a little different!" I can't believe I just said that to a girl who I have probably had about eight full conversations with in my life! She looked like I had just hit her.

Kirsten's P.O.V

Did Louis just say that he would try to make something work... with me?!?!?!?!? No, I must have misunderstood him or something... But I'm not sure how you misunderstand that. Knowing me I would though... Louis wanted to give this a chance! How did that happen to me...? Little me, who was nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary, besides maybe being the best at volleyball in our middle school team. But why would he even say something like that? We really had known each other since I was in Kindergarten, but he was two grades ahead, so there was minimal contact. When I was in seventh grade I thought he was the cutest freshman that went to school, even though everybody else thought Harry was the cutest. But, I still don't know why he would choose me...

"Are you for real Louis?" I questioned him.

"Of course! I really do want to make things work. Even if we haven't talked to each other the most. I have really strong feelings for you Kirsten." He said, and this time I believed him. Maybe I was just over reacting, of course I was! I do that all the time! Then he decided to continue, "Kirsten... Will you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?" I was shocked. I would've been shocked if we even had just one other conversation.

"Why yes, Louis, I would," I answered just as he had phrased his question. He reached across the table and grabbed my hand. I just looked down at our entwined fingers. There was no way to describe it without being cliche. Our hands fit together perfectly.

Louis gave me a ride home, and said he would see me tomorrow. I walked into my house and screamed, "I have a boyfriend!" At the top of my lungs. My step-mom came around the corner.

"Somebody's in a good mood..." She said as she chuckled. Kris had been in my life since sixth grade, and got married last year, while I was in eighth. I liked her, I really did. My mom had never been to caring, but I used to visit her in the summers. Eventually, I just stopped. Whose to say she even noticed? But Kris was a good role model for me, especially when I first stopped seeing my mom. She was alright with me dating and all, and I appreciated that.

"Yesssss! I'm dating Louis!" She knew who I was talking about and I knew exactly what her response was going to be.

"Isn't he a junior?" I just nodded and told her I had homework. She knew that I would just go and do it, once I got food.

*Tomorrow Morning*

I walked into the school and went to my locker, where Louis was waiting for me. All my friends were just watching him warily. I happened to be in the nerdier group, and a nerd myself, but I didn't dress like it or show it as much in public.

He smiled at me, and brushed my back with a soft hand. He whispered in my ear, "Good morning babe," His touch and his voice gave me goosebumbs.

"Good morning," I said back, angling my body more towards him. the first bell rang, and I realized I didn't have any of my stuff done for first period English. He ran off, and I struggled to get into my locker, but then Emily tapped my shoulder and handed me a binder. "I love you!" I said right in her face.

"I know you do!" We linked arms and walked to class.
