My BIG Journey

'Sorry Alicia! My camera won't work!' I said into my computer screen.
'Sorry love... but who's Alicia?'
I froze... my camera wasn't working and all the person could hear was me... speaking.
"Umm-uhh... I'm terrib-bly sorry, I m-must have the w-wrong Skype!' I stuttered.
This guy was completely hot... and I knew him from somewhere...
"What's your name?" his british accent asked me.
"Evie" I waited for a response
"What a lovely name! I just wish that I could see your face!"
This was just my lucky day that he didn't see me... VERY lucky. Being obese isn't easy...
"Anyways, I know you are probably beautiful!" The guy smiled.
'Pssssh... yeah right' I thought to myself. But it felt good to hear someone say such a thing.. I've never heard the word beautiful being spoken to me.
I laughed and smiled.
"I love your laugh, too!"
"My name is....'

12. Change Me. (Back to Evie's POV)

Immediately after that incident, I threw my computer down to the ground and quickly ran downstairs to my parents who were sitting in the livingroom.

They stared at me worriedly.

"Evie? What's wrong?" questioned my dad.

I hesitated while looking at the ground.

"I-" I spoke quietly.

"I need some help."

They looked totally lost. "With what honey?"

"I need to lose weight!" I shouted at them, tearing rolling down my cheeks.

"I need to start over... I need to be normal!" My step mother slowly walked over to me, touching my shoulder and looking over at my father.

"If you want help... we can provide it, right honey?" she asked my father.

Standing up, he nodded, and walked over to me, hugging me tightly.

"If that's what you intend for yourself, let's start now." he spoke, smiling at me.

I smiled back, relieved at his fair answer. And for that split second,  I forgot the sadness that Liam had brought to me.

That's when my step mother spoke up. "We can start by scheduling a doctor's appointment for tomorrow," she said reassuringly.

"And you can start coming to the gym with us if you want, we go every day in the mornings... but that means that you'll have to miss school." my dad said.

"Well honey, maybe I could start home-schooling her," piped up my mother.

"She speaks of suffering at school, maybe it's time she takes a break from all that pressure..."

Man... that was a pretty stinkin' good idea!

"YES. I would love that! Please dad?" I looked at him pleadingly.

After taking a moment to think about it, he looked at my mom, then back at me.

"I don't see why not..."

"Thank you so much!" I squealed, hugging him tightly.

"Yep, this is going to be one new start to remember."
