Part 28

”Who the fuck are you?”
I wake up by the sound of someone talking to me, and as I open my eyes I see a girl standing in the door. She has dark brown hair, almost black, and a tanned skin color. Her hair is long, wavy and hanging down by shoulders and stops just right under her breasts. Her eyes are covered in makeup, and she looks beautiful – sexy I would almost say.
As she realizes I’m not going to answer, she just rolls her eyes and yells down the staircase.
“Why is this girl sleeping in my room? Seriously” And then I start to realize that she has not come to talk to me, but to make me get out of here. Who is she? And I’m sleeping in her bed? Justin said this was a guestroom. I just stare at her, confused and not knowing what to say or do.
“Layla get the fuck out” I hear Justin snap, as he appears in the door.
“So now I’m too boring, huh?” she snaps at him. What? Too boring? I don’t follow.
“Just shut up and get out!” Justin raises his voice and if eyes could kill, that girl would be dead by now. What was her name? Layla? Never heard of her.
“Cunt” Layla rolls her eyes and then leaves the room. I can hear her calling out for the other boys.
Justin is still standing in the doorway, watching her as she leaves. He’s clenching his jaw.
What the fuck was that? Is that a sister or something?
“Who was that?” I ask carefully. I’m so lost right now. Without even looking at me, he answers;
“Don’t mind her – Sorry” he’s just about to leave the room again, but I sit up in the bed.
“No wait – who is it? Is this her room? I thought you sai—“ “It’s not her room” he interrupts me.
I close my mouth for a while. Now I’m just even more confused.
“But… she said so…” I carefully speak, almost mumble.
“I said don’t mind her” he snaps at me, and then he’s out the door. I stare at the door. Wow okay.
I had almost forgotten about the pain from the wound, but as I decide to get up, the pain is suddenly back again and I groan. I have to get up and get some food, my stomach is literally screaming.
I slowly and carefully get back in my clothes and put my hair in a messy bun. I’m still wearing the makeup from yesterday. Or, what’s left of it. I’ve probably cried it all off. I don’t even bother looking in the mirror. I’m going home straight afterwards anyway.
I walk down the stairs and I notice Justin talking to Layla – or rather fighting about something.
I raise an eyebrow, but then Mark shows up, giving me a big smile.
“Hey, you’re up!” he speaks “how are you feeling?” he asks, and I can’t help but smile.
“Well, apart from the fact that it hurts like shit, I’m okay I guess” he chuckles by my answer.
“Yea right, well you hungry? There’s food in the fridge, just make yourself at home” he winks at me, and then leaves the living room. Well, at least he’s kind. Very actually.
I walk to the kitchen and looks around. If it wasn’t for all the mess I would’ve actually think that it looks like a normal kitchen. Like for a normal family. I look at the sweet little table, with 2 chairs on each side and 1 on the end of the table. There’s an ashtray on the table. Ew, they’re smoking inside as well. I walk to the fridge and open it. After searching for several seconds I decide to just grab some yoghurt. I’ll take a real meal at Lea’s. I search for a bowl and shortly after I find one and pour some of the yoghurt into it before putting it back into the fridge. I find a spoon and starts eating. Oh my, feels so good to eat something. I almost roll my eyes in pleasure.
Justin and Layla fighting suddenly catch my attention again. I look out the window, watching them.
Layla is all up in his face, and you don’t have to be a genius to see that he really wants to hit her.
Wow. How come they hate each other so much? I’m so caught up in their fight that I don’t even notice Brandon walking into the kitchen.
“Is it exciting, huh?” he asks and I gasp of fright, almost losing my bowl of yoghurt.
“Damn you scared me” I breathe out as I chuckle, most of all of embarrassment at being caught in the act of eavesdropping on Justin and Layla. He laughs at my reaction.
“First you shoot me, and now you’re trying to scare the shit outta me, wow” I can’t help but laugh. That’s actually a little fucked up, and funny. He laughs with me. “Sorry” he then says.
A silence is filling the room again. I then look at Justin and Layla again, and now he’s trying to walk away from her but she won’t let him. I frown.
“What’s up with them?” I ask, not directly to Brandon, but he answers me anyway;
“Layla’s just a cunt… Really, if you can then avoid her. She’s a bitch” he stands beside me and now watches them as well. I look at him. “But why? Who is she anyway?”
Brandon snorts. “She’s a former… Well, she’s a friend of us… Mostly Justin” I can’t tell whether he’s being sarcastic or if he’s actually talking the truth. But I choose to go with the first one.
“You’re kidding me, right?” I turn my eyes back on them. They seem like an old married couple.
The thought makes me uncomfortable. Wait… Brandon said former… a former girlfriend?
Seeing them like this I can’t imagine them ever liking each other… Being in love.
“Unfortunately not” Brandon answers my question, and we can’t help but laugh a little.
Layla gives him the finger and leaves. He watches her for a while, taking a deep breathe.
And then he looks at the window. And his eyes catch mine. Damn.
