15. Chapter Fourteen

Cassie's P.O.V.

I laid on the floor, blood oozing from my lip and knee. My body was weak. I stood up and looked at myself in the mirror. I was still naked but now thin, pale, and had a look in my eyes for hunger and.. Love. I looked at the clock that read 12 AM. My father was in his room. I could hear his loud snores. I sat on my bed that was stained with blood and dirt. I laid my head on the thin pillow and tried to rest. My stomach rumbled, I was hungry. I haven't eaten for ten whole hours. I wish Niall would get here fast. My eyes began to close and soon, after a couple minutes, I was asleep.

I felt a hand run up my bare thigh. I quickly opened my eyes to see my father. He was dressed and had a clean shave.

"Good morning C." He said.

I moved farther away from him and covered my naked body with my arms. He tilted his head.

"I'm going to work." He stated placing a small kiss on my leg. "Your mother is asleep. I suggest you don't wake her. She's in a bad mood." He said.

"I-I'm.. I-I'm hungry.." I told him.

"Aww. You're hungry?" He asked. I nodded. "That's to bad." He barked. With that he left. I could hear him lock the door so I couldn't and wouldn't get out. I heard him laugh from the other side. I put my head in my pillow. I started shivering. It was November and I was naked. No sheets on the bed to cover me with. Nothing. I lifted myself out of the bed and fell on the floor. Where I laid I could see a small object shining in a corner. I crawled over to the object and reached for it. Once I got it in my hand, before even looking at it I knew what it was. It was my necklace. The one Niall gave me. I looked at the small pendant in my hand. A tear came down from my eye.

"Niall, please hurry." I said to myself. I put the pendant around my neck and held it. I remembered how his eyes were. Really light and always looked happy. His lips were so soft, even in mornings. How he was always so carefree. How he didn't care if I was fat or skinny,  tall or short, blond or brown haired. All he cared about was that I was me. I remember how he called be beautiful every morning. Even when I looked like trash. How he made me laugh. Even when I was upset a smile was put on my face when I was with him. I loved how I could be myself. The side of me no one else cared to see. And most of all I remember how he loved me. How many times he would say he loved me.

Tears flooded my eyes and I curled up in a ball on the cooled floor and cried. I never thought I would cry this much in my life for a boy. But Niall wasn't a boy. He was pure love.

An hour passed. I laid on the floor, cold and hungry. I heard the door start to unlock. When opened I saw my other there with a smile on her face. How evil was she? She knelt down in front of me.

"Cold?" She asked. I nodded quick. She snorted with laughter. "Good." She walked over me. I shouted when she stepped on my stomach to get past. She sat on my bed. "You're so dirty. Maybe you need a bath." She smiled. I knew the worse hasn't even began.

"Please don't." I begged.

She shook her head. "Get up." She harshly demanded. I stood up slowly and covered my naked body. "Trust me, that won't make a difference." She said. She took my wrist and dragged me to the backyard. Feeling the cool air on my face made me feel at least a little free. I saw our pool, it was frozen. It always gets frozen November-February. The thin sheet of ice covered it. She pushed me close to the edge. I tried to run back but I was to tired and weak that I fell to the ground. I heard the door open and saw my dad. When he saw what was going on he smiled.

"You're home early." Mum smiled.

"They let me off early." He stated.

"Just giving Cassie a nice swim." She said.

He walked over and saw me laying down lifeless and to weak. Right before I could stop myself he pushed me into the frozen pool. The thin layer of ice broke as I fell in. The water was so cold, it felt like needles stabbing me. I felt my body get numb. I knew they were going to get me out sooner or later. If they killed me they would go to jail. After a few minutes I started to sink. Right there I felt hands drag me out of the water. Once out I shivered and coughed. The water went in my lungs. I couldn't understand, I could never understand why this would happen to me. Just then everything went black.

"Where are you?" I heard a soft voice sing. I opened my eyes. I was face to face with the one I loved. I embraced him in a hug.

"I thought I would never see you again." I said. He smiled at me. I looked around us, where were we? It was dark, fire surrounded us. "Niall?" I asked. But he didn't say anything. I looked at his face. His face started to turn. I jumped up and got out of his arms.

"Done run from us." He said.

"Us?" I asked nervous.

"We just want to play."

"Play with us." I heard many voices chant.

"What's going on?!" I shouted. I saw Niall and his face turned into a face I would never forget. My fathers. The fire surrounded us more. I cried out for help but nothing happened. "Someone help me!"

I shot up. I looked around, I was in my room. Still naked and thin. Thankfully it was all a dream. I sighed. Thank God it was over. I checked the clock. 6 PM. I've been out for five hours. My door was busted open. I saw my drunk father run to the bed.

"Who are you?" He asked stupidly. I could smell the alcohol in his breath. "I like you." He dumbly said. I pushed him off. He fell back but he still ran toward me. I was weak and hungry. He started to unbuckle his pants.

"No! Don't, please!" I shouted. He didn't move. I started to sob. I didn't just cry out, I cried out a name that would always help me. "Niall!" I cried. My father started touching me. I screamed but he pinned my hands above my head. He continued to touch me inappropriately. "Niall!" I cried hoping he would come.

"Niall Isn't here." My father said. He spread my legs and harshly entered me. I yelled out one more time. With that I saw hands grab my father and throw him on the floor. I was to weak to even open my eyes. I laid there, breathing heavy. I tried opening my eyes slightly. I saw a familiar face run towards me and help me up.

"Cassie! Oh thank goodness! Are you okay?" She said. I couldn't speak. All I heard was punching and shouts. I turned and saw Niall. He had my father on the floor and he kicked his stomach and soon his jaw. I weakly looked at the girl who was calling out a name. What was she saying? Harry. I knew right then and there it was Brianna. "Don't worry Cassie. We'll get you out." She said. I nodded and fell back, to tired to even move.

Niall's P.O.V.

With that one last kick to the jaw her father was out. I breathed heavy. My lip was bleeding from the fight her father and I just had. How could he? To his own daughter. To the one I love.

"Niall!" I heard Brianna say. I ran to where she was and saw Cassie. She was so thin, pale and dried blood was shown on all her cuts. I took my jacket off and covered her up. I held her face in my hands.

"Baby. Come on. Wake up for me."

"Mmm.." She mumbled.

"Find Harry and get in the car." I told Brianna. But right then Harry walked in the room.

"I can't find her mom anywhere." He said.

"It's fine. Just get in the car. We need to get her to the hospital." I said. They rushed out. I picked Cassie up and held her in my arms. I watched her breathe softy. "I'm sorry I let this happen to you." I whispered. I kissed the top of her head. When I did she moved in my arms. Her eyes opened slightly. She stared up at me.

"Niall?" She said confused. I chuckled. I was to happy she woke up.

"Yes. Yes it's me." I said smiling. She looked at me and smiled. I couldn't help but be happy. She woke up and I finally had her back. I couldn't help myself but I grabbed her face and kissed her. I missed her kiss. Her touch. Her hand in mine. Her love. After a while she pulled away.

"You're hurt." She said touching my lip.

"It's just a scratch. Now come on, lets get you home." I picked her back up in my arms.

"I wanna walk." She said weakly.

"Are you sure?" I asked. She nodded. I set her down and she almost fell but I caught her. She leaned on my shoulder. "Don't worry, I got you." I told her letting her know I would protect her, because that's what I wanted to do. Never let her go again. Keep her safe. She was mine and only mine. I helped her walk into the hallway. As we were turning I heard slow footsteps walking toward us. I didn't know what it was. As I turned around I saw her mother. She pushed Cassie down the stairs before I could do anything.

"NO!" I shouted. Cassie fell head first. I turned to her mother and gripped her throat with my hand to pin her against the wall. She choked by my touch. I held my fist back ready to strike.

"Y-You w-wouldn't hit a w-woman." She choked out.

"I wouldn't be to sure." I said sternly and punched her straight in the face. She hit the floor and I immediately ran down to help Cassie. Her head was bleeding. "Oh no." I said. I saw police run into the house as I lifted her head off the floor. "Someone help me!" I yelled. An officer ran toward me. The rest ran upstairs to the parents.

"What happened?" He asked.

"Her mother pushed her down the stairs head first. She's weak and bleeding from the head. Please help me." I said out of breath. He nodded.

"We have an ambulance here." We both walked outside. They took Cassie quick. I went to climb up to ride with her in the ambulance.

"Sorry sir. We need you to meet her at the hospital. She's in critical conditions." They said.

"I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying here! Whether you like it or not." I shouted. They looked at each other. I'm wasn't leaving her.

"Alright." They said. I told Brianna and Harry to drive to the hospital. As the truck started I held onto Cassie's hand. She was passed out and bleeding. The sight of her like this made me break down crying. Why her?

We got to the hospital in a flash. They took her out on the stretcher and they took her away before I could be with her.

"I need to be with her." I told one of the nurses.

"I'm sorry sir you have to stay in the waiting area. She is in a life or death situation. I'm sorry. We'll do the best we can. I promise." I saw the in the nurse's eyes compassion and sorrow. I trusted her. I nodded and walked to the waiting area. I saw Brianna and Harry. They both hugged me. I brought them here because I knew they would help. I couldn't help but cry. I was scared. I didn't want her to die. She needed to be here. I would want to kill myself if she wasn't here with me.

"She'll be okay Ni." Brianna said. "I know she will." I sat down. Still in tears.

One hour passed..

Then two..

And soon four hours passed..

My mother and Daisy arrived an hour ago. Everyone was asleep. But not me. I was going to stay up no matter what time it was. I didn't care. It was 11:00. The doctors still didn't come out. But soon a knock on the door came. We all jumped. Everyone woke up. The doctor walked in. He sat down on one of the chairs.

"How is she?" I asked quick.

"She's for the most alright. She has major head damage. But she's alive. This was a serious injury. You're very lucky. She had no protein, low blood sugar. She could have died." He stated.

"Thank you so much." My mum said. I couldn't have been happier. My baby's okay. She's okay.

"No problem. It was the least I can do. Oh.. And one more thing about Cassie.."

Expect the unexpected. Cassie is not losing her memory! Merry Christmas!
